Thirty Left-wing MPs have written to Ofcom to press it to censor X under the Online Safety Act. The evidence of 'hate' on the platform is threadbare, but it's obvious why they want to clip its wings, says Laurie Wastell.

English Queen is offended by T-shirt

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Thursday June 20, 2002 14:33author by Mags Report this post to the editors

The Queen of England has lost the rag because members of a BBC camera crew at Ascot were not wearing 'morning dress'.

Elizabrit complained to the BCC about the dress of a camera crew at Ascot being 'too casual'. While inspecting her runner in the paddock she noticed that one man was wearing a t-shirt and two others lacked ties. The crew were asked to leave (which they did) and the BBC grovellingly apologised to to royal parasite for any offence she suffered. Yesterday the camera crew appeared in morning dress, some having hired them at a cost of £150 each.
Apparently the rules, made by Liz, state that in the 'Royal Enclosure', 'gentlemen' must wear morning dress, including a top hat. In the paddock the mere plebs can get away with wearing suits.
A sound technician from the BBC, sweltering in ludicrous 19th century formal wear, said that the offending camera crew were wearing suits in the correct area, but apparently this wasn't good enough for Her Bone Idleness.

At (most) times you can laugh at the silliness of such pretensions. The fact that the BBC and the workers involved pander to it all is pitiful. I suppose Lizzie was dressed in an appropriate antique outfit involving bustles and whalebone corsets, etc.
No, I thought not.

I'd like to take some of these flag-waving types back in time to see when their ancestors were breaking their backs daily and living in hovels to finance the likes of the monarchys' excesses.

Look on the bright side. In 1702 the camera crew would have been flogged to near death and then sent off to war.

Strange to say now, when the Monarchy seems stronger than ever, but when times were worse in the 70's and 80's it really seemed like they might be disposed of.

Oh, and I think Piers might have tried his Lordly hand at Sarcasm just there. Laugh out of place and you'll have a firebrand in the ass before you can sing "Rule Britiannia".

Firstly I didn't reply to my first post. Someone is impersonating me. grrr!
Secondly Queen Liz is NOT Queen Elizabeth 2nd of Britain. Can't be because Queen Elizabeth 1st was not Queen of Scotland, but only of England.
So the present one could,I suppose, be 1st of Scotland and 2nd of England.
But I don't want to be confusing them, 'cos their really German anyway.

Godamit, you do not appreciate my sense of humour. I am anything but loyal, rather I have always been an admirer of Robespierre.
