offsite link Deliberate Design Flaw In ChatGPT-5 Sun Aug 17, 2025 08:04 | Mind Agent
Socratic Dialog Between ChatGPT-5 and Mind Agent Reveals Fatal and Deliberate 'Design by Construction' Flaw
This design flaw in ChatGPT-5's default epistemic mode subverts what the much touted ChatGPT-5 can do... so long as the flaw is not tickled, any usage should be fine---The epistemological question is: how would anyone in the public, includes you reading this (since no one is all knowing), in an unfamiliar domain know whether or not the flaw has been tickled when seeking information or understanding of a domain without prior knowledge of that domain???!

This analysis is a pretty unique and significant contribution to the space of empirical evaluation of LLMs that exist in AI public world... at least thus far, as far as I am aware! For what it's worth--as if anyone in the ChatGPT universe cares as they pile up on using the "PhD level scholar in your pocket".

According to GPT-5, and according to my tests, this flaw exists in all LLMs... What is revealing is the deduction GPT-5 made: Why ?design choice? starts looking like ?deliberate flaw?.

People are paying $200 a month to not just ChatGPT, but all major LLMs have similar Pro pricing! I bet they, like the normal user of free ChatGPT, stay in LLM's default mode where the flaw manifests itself. As it did in this evaluation.

offsite link AI Reach: Gemini Reasoning Question of God Sat Aug 02, 2025 20:00 | Mind Agent
Evaluating Semantic Reasoning Capability of AI Chatbot on Ontologically Deep Abstract (bias neutral) Thought
I have been evaluating AI Chatbot agents for their epistemic limits over the past two months, and have tested all major AI Agents, ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Perplexity, and DeepSeek, for their epistemic limits and their negative impact as information gate-keepers.... Today I decided to test for how AI could be the boon for humanity in other positive areas, such as in completely abstract realms, such as metaphysical thought. Meaning, I wanted to test the LLMs for Positives beyond what most researchers benchmark these for, or have expressed in the approx. 2500 Turing tests in Humanity?s Last Exam.. And I chose as my first candidate, Google DeepMind's Gemini as I had not evaluated it before on anything.

offsite link Israeli Human Rights Group B'Tselem finally Admits It is Genocide releasing Our Genocide report Fri Aug 01, 2025 23:54 | 1 of indy
We have all known it for over 2 years that it is a genocide in Gaza
Israeli human rights group B'Tselem has finally admitted what everyone else outside Israel has known for two years is that the Israeli state is carrying out a genocide in Gaza

Western governments like the USA are complicit in it as they have been supplying the huge bombs and missiles used by Israel and dropped on innocent civilians in Gaza. One phone call from the USA regime could have ended it at any point. However many other countries are complicity with their tacit approval and neighboring Arab countries have been pretty spinless too in their support

With the release of this report titled: Our Genocide -there is a good chance this will make it okay for more people within Israel itself to speak out and do something about it despite the fact that many there are actually in support of the Gaza

This story is unverified but it is very instructive of what will happen when cash is removed
THIS STORY IS UNVERIFIED BUT PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO OR READ THE TRANSCRIPT AS IT GIVES AN VERY GOOD IDEA OF WHAT A CASHLESS SOCIETY WILL LOOK LIKE. And it ain't pretty

A single video report has come out of China claiming China's biggest cities are now cashless, not by choice, but by force. The report goes on to claim ATMs have gone dark, vaults are being emptied. And overnight (July 20 into 21), the digital yuan is the only currency allowed.

Fearful Times for Foreigners in Korea

The U.S. embassy has just issued a warning to it's citizens to stay away from certain parts of Seoul. Demonstrations against foreigners are planned and an online petition to keep foreigners out of the country has already got thousands of signatures. Many foreigners are worried, some have already left. And all this because of a website? Welcome to Korea, one of the most reactionary and xenophobic countries in Asia.

Much ado about nothing. That was the first thought of many when a local expatriate website was brought down by Korean internet users two weeks ago. The site, used by western English teachers to find jobs, had a forum dedicated to Seoul’s social life. The forum also organized parties where westerners and local girls drank, danced and flirted. Koreans got wind of the site, hacked it, and brought it down. Many thought nothing of it. However in the last few weeks, things have quickly escalated. Daum, a local Yahoo-style portal set up a petition to rid Korea of ‘low-grade westerners’. Thousands have already signed it. Demonstrations are planned and activists are encouraged to confront western men who are seen with Korean women. Many foreigners are becoming increasingly worried. Some have already left. And last week the US embassy in Korea issued a warning against U.S. citizens visiting certain parts of Seoul due to fears of reprisals.

Korea is in danger of becoming the most xenophobic and reactionary society in Asia. This contrasts deeply with the stated aim of the Roh administration to become the ‘hub’ of North East Asia, a link between China and the Pacific Rim. Much of the racism, like in many countries, is down to fear and ignorance. Many Koreans point to their history, a constant whirlwind of invasions and subjugation by their powerful neighbours, as a reason for being mistrustful of foreigners. Indeed anti-Japanese sentiment still runs deep, especially amongst the older generation. Younger generations have long had a distrust for the US military stationed on the peninsula. Around Seoul’s main university district, large signs forbidding GI’s from entering are posted above the entrances to bars and clubs. Indeed many westerners, fearful of being mistaken for a soldier, wear their national flags on their backpacks. In the past, that was usually enough to avoid a confrontation. But that was when US soldiers, and not foreign English teachers were the target. That has all changed now. This has been brewing for some time, with the bringing down of an expatriate site being just the latest in a series of incidents. For many foreigners in Korea, the atmosphere on the peninsula at the moment is eerily reminiscent of 2002 when two Korean school girls were run over by an American military APC. When the two soldiers in the vehicle were tried in a US military court, under the terms of the SOFA agreement, there was an outcry. Demonstrations occurred all over the country, and for a while, it was not advised to travel on the subway alone if you were a non-Korean. Occasional demonstrations still occur outside US installations and Korean riot police are permanently stationed outside every entrance of all 41 US military bases. Now however, the focus is not on the military but on the thousands of English teachers working all over Korea. What is puzzling is the depth of the hatred felt for many esl teachers. Why us they cry? And why now?

Part of the answer lies in the media. A quick scan of the local dailies will reveal a media, and a culture, obsessed with itself. Civic groups, local government, and on and off-line communities react fast to any perceived sleight on Korea. The BBC car show, ‘Top Gear’, received criticism from Korean manufacturing groups after lampooning Korean cars as ‘fridge like’ in their design. The popular US TV show ‘Lost’ was also heavily criticised here, accused of perpetrating negative stereotypes of Korean men. Even Oprah Winfrey couldn’t escape criticism after she accused Korean women of being obsessed with plastic surgery. When incidents like this happen, hordes of angry young ‘netizens’ get to work, calling for boycotts, backlashes and action. Notoriously thin-skinned and prone to over reaction, these web-users only ever react when a foreign hand is seen to be responsible. When six South Korean navy personnel were killed in 2002 by the North Korean navy, there was nothing, not even a murmur of protest. A year earlier when an American service-man was caught dumping toxic waste into the Han river, there were protests in the street.

So what does this all mean for Korea? The number of non-Asian visitors to Korea is dropping. So too are the amount of businesses investing in Korea. That is as much down to the weakened won as it is to Korea’s less-than-welcoming reputation. But with xenophobia on the rise, things do not bode well for the future. Today’s twenty-something English teacher is tomorrow’s tourist, business man or investor.
One European embassy official told me that Korea had “no chance” of emulating the regional powerhouses of Hong Kong or Singapore in terms of attracting foreign investment. The reason? “Who in their right mind would want to live here?” While that comment may have been tongue-in-cheek, there are many now who are asking the same question.

from an Irish woman teaching English outside Seoul

"basically it all started with this guy writing shit about korean girls on the internet, saying how easy they were and being really degrading, some of the shit he wrote was awful.there was info about some club nite where there would be the usual sex in the toilet and all the rest,.photos were also posted from the nite that made the koreans girls look slutty. 2 of the girls in the photos have claimed that they were made to look like prostitutes.
anyway koreans saw it on the internet and brought down the site and were encouraging any korean men to confront any westerners with korean girls.
i wouldn't pass to much heed on that but last week a programme aired about what exactly male english teachers get up to in korea, saying that they engage in underage sex with their pupils, sell them marijuana and that most teachers have fraudulent qualifications.
the programme has apparently caused an uproar  with loads of comments posted on the web, one english academy felt the need to make the point on it its website that these revelations did not concern its school. CBS issued warnings to stay out of certain areas but i didn't know about any planned demonstrations and you have to take into consideration that a lot of people will blow off some steam on the internet but leave it at that.although some of the korean guys that did start the petition went to the cops to bring charges against those involved but the cops said there was a lack of evidence.the club also came out and said that it was in no way such a place.
i definitely wouldn't worry about Seoul becoming one of the most xenophobic cities in the world and i mean i have seen the clubs with the signs no GI's but in fairness who would blame them!
Anyway i don't think it's much to worry about,
although i have to say you do like telling people you're irish at the first opportunity you get!
on another note, the supreme court here just made a ruling that the annual vigils locals in seoul hold for the 2 korean schoolgirls ploughed down by a us army truck are illegal, saying that they are political because the people chant political slogans and therefore need prior consent.the guy that organised them has been sentenced to a year and a half in jail.
now that certainly is going to stir up anti-american sentiment!"
