World Kindness Day may have passed you by. But it won't have passed by your children, whose school will have been sure to teach that climate action and open borders are essential elements of 'kindness', says Steven Tucker.

First they were 'Asian' grooming gangs, then 'Pakistani'. But the most important thing to grasp is that almost all of them ? 87% of convictions ? are Muslim, says Mark Durie. This must not be covered up.

Food Not Bombs! report from Sunday

category dublin | miscellaneous | news report author Monday September 20, 2004 10:55author by Ciano - Food Not Bombsauthor email evilbulliton at hush dot com Report this post to the editors

Food Not Bombs struck again on Sunday the 19th...we cooked our usual, Parnell Stew and Cam's Capital Curry. It was a shit day but there was a great atmosphere outside the ilac. Afterwards we finalised plans for Car Free Day.

There's lots of running around by the lads (and me worrying) but the response from the people when we set up the stall is all worth it makes it so much fun...

Collecting the food on Moore Str there's some tension between the traders and those who collect the food they throw out, but we try to be nice to them and swap and share food with others collecting the vegetable and fruits, which with no market on a sunday would go to waste anyway...

So it was slow to get started but once we got going we met lots of great people, a couple who were hungry and had little money were going to go to abrakedabra to eat but saw us and were grateful of a nice meal and offered us some more kitchen supplies...

Derek came to the rescue and we atlast found out the whereabouts of the bike trailer which will go into use on Wednesday's critical mass for mobile food (and then of course we get an email offering us another one the same day:)

We also briefly talked to a women who years ago, had like us, stood outside mcdonalds protesting at the use of polysteryne holders... we were glad to see her and she us...

The idea behind foodnotbombs has been to highlight the wastage of food and also feed those most hungry, we has been mostly we feeding passersby who recognise the wastageand appreciate the vegetarin food, we have been doing flyering and talking to people on the streets but its been slow and is a matter building up trust and connections...

I spoke to young a polish guy who had done similar actions with his friends in Poland, I invited him to CM but he was very busy working transporting fruit, working eating and sleeping and working again, staying in Ireland for 5 year to earn enough money to pay to go to college back in Poland

Hopefully more pics and video? up soon

Various fnb people will have a stall at an all-ages punk gig on in the city arts centre, moss str sat 25th with stencil art and puget sound headlining 3e, thanks to the organiser of that

Again we invite you to come along have sit down have a chat and some food if you want eating with someone is indeed a great ice-breaker, every second week outside the rear entrance to Ilac Centre Parnell str.
