Unloading Kurds will disarm Turkish trojan entrance into EU

08 September 2004
KurdishMedia.com - By Serhat Kerkuki

With the return of politicians from summer holidays, we will enter a debate culminating in December in a decision on whether initiating the Turkish accession negotiations in to the European Union. Reports will be published from different European institutes some in favour others against. We will also hear of political uproar that makes first page news drumming up fears on both sides. However, it is hoped the debate will be based on facts and some might even dare and break the taboos, bringing to public attention questions like;
can Turkey obtain membership while holding onto Kurdistan, are Turkish chances better served without Kurdistan? Would a Turkish lift of her moratorium on Kurdistan be the key to Turkish citizens’ future stability, prosperity and welfare of her children? This article humbly aims to contribute to such an open discussion.
