Anarchist defuses potentially violent journalist

category dublin | summit mobilisations | news report author Saturday May 01, 2004 14:45author by seedot Report this post to the editors

Kn own troublemaker Brendan O'Connor on the streets of Dublin

On a sunny afternoon a journalist claims he was assaulted by a large puppet. Fortunately some anarchists were close by to defuse the situation.

Brendan O'Connor is well known to Indymedia readers as the only man in Ireland who could get into the US transporters to count the burgers. He was out looking to talk to some of the protestors on the Grassroots No Borders event this morning.

When his head was brushed by the hand of a puppet, Mr O'Connor immediately claimed he was assaulted and, in the description of one shocked anarchist who was in the area 'seemed to start foaming at the mouth'.

Despite this behaviour the protestors managed to calm the situation effectively, bringing peace and harmony to the streets of Dublin.

Oh well, that's his Sunday story then:
'Evil anarchist puppet molests journalist'

Maybe we could have a competition to see who can come up with the best title for his story.

Background to this for our Foreign Readers.

This guy was the only Irish Journalist allowed on to a US Warplane at Shannon Airport in buildup to Iraq Invasion. He claimed the planes were merely shipping Coke and Crisps (potato chips) over to the Boys in Iraq. It later emerges that the planes were carrying arms - which is contrary to Irish Law and Constitution. He is a fat professional liar and may begin eating Dublin soon if we don't watch out.

There wasn't any video of O'Connor's antics taken properly - I looked afterwards. Pity. AF gave him a mouthful of cheek but in the end it was all a load of rubbish. Using his big head to make big, empty noise as usual. O'Connor = O'Cutehoor, up from the country to lick his editor's ass and do what he's told (go and make a fool of yourself for me, Big Brendan!

Be sure of a complete lack of analysis in his article. It'll be all " Begor, the Gards are great, etc, etc, pity Donal was not there, if it was the thirties I'd have supported Mussolini, etc, etc..."

In short, it will be more empty bleating from the old folks home of tabloid disquised as broadsheet journalism, the Sindo. The place where burnt out hacks get paid to foam off at the mouth. ( except for Gene Kerrigan, who I like, not only because I aghree with him, but he actually cites cases, etc, to back up his arguments. I like right winger Andrew Sullivan, even though I don't agree with him, for same latter reason.)

It is so handy having a job where you get to write rubbish and get paid for it. But Brendan O Connor is a c---. He was seen at an early house one morning pissing everyone off, and trying to avoid paying for drinks because he was "famous" ( source ; The Slate, August 2003)

"the protestors managed to calm the situation effectively, bringing peace and harmony to the streets of Dublin. "

How? What did they do? What actually happened? Did the police laugh at Brenden when he complained?

The guy is huge, he must have looked stupid...

The media are a disgrace for the way they have tried to manufacture the news. That fat git was going out of his way to provoke people. Yes, he was promoting the establishment agenda, but he is only the tip of the iceberg of lazy quisling journalists who have the moral standards of sewer rats.

I hope I am not being unfair to real rats.
