Jump To Comment: 1 2 3the Taoiseach said absolutely nothing that he could be held responsible for. He made no committments that he couldnt pretent he didnt make.
And SIPTU beaurocrats decided that this statement was enough to totally undermine their entire democratic structure and call off a strike that its members had voted for without even notifying the strike committee that they were doing so.
Wonderful.
So the SIPTU leadership decided to call off a democratically voted decision on strike action, all because Bertie said a few things in a letter.
Heres this governments real test of committment. How many of the promised 10,000 new homes have been built under the new agreed partnership agreement "Sustaining Progress".Not one brick has even been laid.Mr O'Connor can confirm that. But hey us ordinary members what do we know.
its about time we rejected sixteen years of wage slavery and lies from all sides.Whoops Im sorry its called Partnership.
How dare the Union leadership over rule a democratically arrived at decision to take strike action against a government that continues to lie cheat and decive us.
This is the moment to join SIPTU if not already a member - to organise both in workplaces against the bosses and in the union's structures against betrayal.
