The BBC's Director of Comedy wants to "save the sitcom". But the sitcom is only endangered because most of them stopped being funny. As To the Manor Born reminds us, British comedy has lost its class, says Finlay McLaren.

We're a week away from the most painful Budget in history thanks largely to the eye-watering cost of lockdown. Yet Baroness Hallett says next time the Government must be ready to go harder and faster. This is insanity.

It's bad enough that all UK TV users are forced to fund the BBC via a TV licence. But it's worse than that, says Charlotte Gill: millions of pounds of taxpayers' money are handed to the corporation via backdoor channels.

the had an article from the working class action about their posters being taken down, but they always have these "articles" about where joe smith who happens to be running for election has a deep concern they wnat to share with the readers purely for the benefit of mankind, there was a vapid article about spam where this electee managed to pro,ote herself nad her brothers business in sham article....

Perry speaks an odd Cabraese dialect.

It may shock the poster above to discover that most Cabra people speak with Cabra accents, strange as it may seem.

So what is the problem??

why is it everytime a new leftist group appears, they slag off the "irrelevant" left parties, which of course they are not part of. Their party of course is different. Not irrelevant etc. Reads a little silly of you ask me, also about how the socialist party hijacked a protest about lets see two socialist party politicians being jailed. Seems he's just like the rest of the infighting left he is complaining about.

I read that interview. He says that he is opposed to working class people needing leadership...then he criticises SF for not giving leadership! He also says he heckled Rosie Kane MSP at the "Free Clare and Joe" demonstration. Because she was talking about immigration and asylum seekers getting screwed over by the capitalist state. Ignorant fecker. That guy is coming from the base level of society. He plays down his politics to lumpenised elements. He has a record of being pandering to the "burn 'em out!" anti-paedophile elements.

FFS Perry Watch, you really are an idiot. You call yourself Perry Watch and it takes you six months to answer this.
You are nothing but a troll. Now feck off idiot.

This is what CP said about Kane, in context.
"AM: Around the time that anti-bin tax protets were being held at the Dail there were also protests staged there against the immigration policy of the Dublin government. Does the hackling of Rosie Kane, a member of the Scottish Parliament by anti-bin tax supporters when she raised the case of an African asylum-seeker who was trying to return to Dublin from Scotland not give you cause for concern?

CP: Not in the least. I was involved in that hackling of Kane. My record on anti-racism/anti-fascism speaks for itself. I’ve being involved in Anti Fascist Action since it’s foundation 10 years ago. I have always been upfront in my opinions on racism even though it has not been popular in the last few years.

The content of Kane’s speech was typical of the left. The huge turnout on the march was due to the anger in working class communities against both the jailing of Higgins and Daly, and the constant attacks on the living conditions of working class people as typified by the Bin Tax. Yet Kane’s speech concentrated on issues that were of concern to her and her like, not the ordinary working class people who populated the demonstration. The problem with the demonstration that night was that it was effectively hijacked by the Socialist Party, resulting in a load of irrelevant leftist speakers rather than those that represented the majority of people on the march, working class community activists. Simply, people were there to hear about the battle against the Bin Tax not to hear about the chosen subjects of the leftists. "

The election leaflet I've seen mentions nothing about the bin charges or socialism or the 6 cos or any other issue on which he has claimed SF has "sold out". A cyncial attempt to get votes on the back of people's concerns about anti-social behaviour and crime. The guy wouldnt have a fucking clue what to do if given a position of responsibilty but thankfully the people of Cabra have no intentions of doing that so we're safe.

I think that the extract of Perry's interview confirms what I'm saying. He is saying that "other isssues" shouldn't be raised at bin tax demos. What's wrong with attacking the government that is jailing bin tax protesters AND depoting immigrants! It's the same government implementing equally anti-working class policies.

Perry has a lot to answer on his regressive attitude on paedophiles and crime. He is not raising socialism in his leaflets. He's shifting his politics to "get votes". He and Joe Mooney are chancers.

Why the fuck do you think these trolls are SPers. I am sick and tired of every troll idiot being labelled a SPer, remember there are plenty of childish fools who come on this site just to stir shit and will take on the guise of any party they find most convenient

For months they have allowed the senior SP member who adopts the various 'watcher' labels to troll on indymedia thread after indymedia thread. Hes at it at the moment. So people now assume that trolls coming from an SP angle are SP members as well. We've no way of telling the real ones from the fakes. Put your own house in order and that will change.

Actually SP member, you've probably just been suckered into giving a troll a chance to list the thousand and one supposed crimes of your organisations.

Perry Watcher and Watching Perry Watcher are probably the same troll. First he attakcs someone. Then under a second name he accuses someone else of the attack.

Then he sits back and watches the troll fest that ensues.

The moral of the story is to take everyting that is posted on the thread with a serious pinch of salt
