There's a young fella next door to me I saw smokin a funny cigarette the other day. I think he's a drug dealer. Will some republicans please call around and kneecap him please.

...nor read anything like a serious account of events in the north. But we'll make it easy for him. Of the 1,500 estimated recorded incidents of sectarianism logged each year over the last 5 years in the north, could s/he cite one where republicans have helped people make bombs to get rid of their protestant neighbours for having a portrait of the queen? Ok that's not fair. How about one incident since 1998 (or before for that matter) where provisional republicans were connected in anyway to the eviction of protestants from catholic or mixed areas? come-on Yoyo, I'm only asking for one.
(Gombain is, sadly, right. The provos are shisters when it comes to people smoking dope and they should wise up)
Bhiodh alt as Gaeilge go rialta in An Phoblacht ach nil se le feiceail anseo. An e an fath ata leis seo:
* nach sileann Sinn Fein go bhfuil moran de thabhacht ag baint leis an Ghaeilge agus gur choir i a fhagail sa chulra anois (agus i a thabhairt ar ais chun tosaigh aris nuair is feidir callan a dheanamh fuithi);
* go ndearna siad "dearmad" uirthi;
* no nach bhfuil luach votala innti?
There used to be a regular article in Irish in An Phoblacht but it doesn't appear here. Is the reason for this:
* that Sinn Fein don't attach much importance to the Irish language and that they believe it should be relegated to the background (only to resurrect it again as an issue when they can kick up a racket about it as an issue);
* that they "forgot" about it;
* that they don't think it has much vote value?
Eoin, your three points are all wrong. I would recommend that if you are genuinely concerned with an percieved lack of priority given to irish in APRN that you contact Martin Spain or send in some articles and where they will be most welcome.
