More cheery shite from the EU

category international | miscellaneous | news report author Thursday September 18, 2003 12:15author by Lone Gunman Report this post to the editors

More big Brother type laws that infringe on everyones liberty

In todays Indo Article." smart cards for cars will not be State intrusion"
It is purported by the Greek minister in charge of the EU comission on transport to instal smart cards and black boxes in cars which will ostensibly reduce paperwork and theft.[Yeah right!]The benefits will be that your tax, insurance, and NCT,etc will all be there to be downloaded by the relevant authorties.
Whatever you think about the car this is yet again an attack on our civil liberties by unelected beuacrats in the EU. I would like to know; does he propose that All cars beyond a certain age are exempt?Or does he propose that All cars have to be fitted with this?If so who pays for it?I as a motorist will not.I am quite happy with the paperwork as it is thank you very much.Another thing we must keep an eye on the insidious creeping strangulation of personal liberty by the EU.It is more sinister than the UN

I always did fancy a Harley Davidson. But I suppose a dirt bike of some sort on our lousey motorist financed roads would be more in order.Plus the fact Ireland is not exactly biker country, with our weather is it?
