UCC has paid huge sums to a criminal professor
This story is not for republication. I bear responsibility for the things I write. I have read the guidelines and understand that I must not write anything untrue, and I won't.
This is a public interest story about a complete failure of governance and management at UCC.

offsite link Deliberate Design Flaw In ChatGPT-5 Sun Aug 17, 2025 08:04 | Mind Agent
Socratic Dialog Between ChatGPT-5 and Mind Agent Reveals Fatal and Deliberate 'Design by Construction' Flaw
This design flaw in ChatGPT-5's default epistemic mode subverts what the much touted ChatGPT-5 can do... so long as the flaw is not tickled, any usage should be fine---The epistemological question is: how would anyone in the public, includes you reading this (since no one is all knowing), in an unfamiliar domain know whether or not the flaw has been tickled when seeking information or understanding of a domain without prior knowledge of that domain???!

This analysis is a pretty unique and significant contribution to the space of empirical evaluation of LLMs that exist in AI public world... at least thus far, as far as I am aware! For what it's worth--as if anyone in the ChatGPT universe cares as they pile up on using the "PhD level scholar in your pocket".

According to GPT-5, and according to my tests, this flaw exists in all LLMs... What is revealing is the deduction GPT-5 made: Why ?design choice? starts looking like ?deliberate flaw?.

People are paying $200 a month to not just ChatGPT, but all major LLMs have similar Pro pricing! I bet they, like the normal user of free ChatGPT, stay in LLM's default mode where the flaw manifests itself. As it did in this evaluation.

offsite link AI Reach: Gemini Reasoning Question of God Sat Aug 02, 2025 20:00 | Mind Agent
Evaluating Semantic Reasoning Capability of AI Chatbot on Ontologically Deep Abstract (bias neutral) Thought
I have been evaluating AI Chatbot agents for their epistemic limits over the past two months, and have tested all major AI Agents, ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Perplexity, and DeepSeek, for their epistemic limits and their negative impact as information gate-keepers.... Today I decided to test for how AI could be the boon for humanity in other positive areas, such as in completely abstract realms, such as metaphysical thought. Meaning, I wanted to test the LLMs for Positives beyond what most researchers benchmark these for, or have expressed in the approx. 2500 Turing tests in Humanity?s Last Exam.. And I chose as my first candidate, Google DeepMind's Gemini as I had not evaluated it before on anything.

offsite link Israeli Human Rights Group B'Tselem finally Admits It is Genocide releasing Our Genocide report Fri Aug 01, 2025 23:54 | 1 of indy
We have all known it for over 2 years that it is a genocide in Gaza
Israeli human rights group B'Tselem has finally admitted what everyone else outside Israel has known for two years is that the Israeli state is carrying out a genocide in Gaza

Western governments like the USA are complicit in it as they have been supplying the huge bombs and missiles used by Israel and dropped on innocent civilians in Gaza. One phone call from the USA regime could have ended it at any point. However many other countries are complicity with their tacit approval and neighboring Arab countries have been pretty spinless too in their support

With the release of this report titled: Our Genocide -there is a good chance this will make it okay for more people within Israel itself to speak out and do something about it despite the fact that many there are actually in support of the Gaza

offsite link China?s CITY WIDE CASH SEIZURES Begin ? ATMs Frozen, Digital Yuan FORCED Overnight Wed Jul 30, 2025 21:40 | 1 of indy
This story is unverified but it is very instructive of what will happen when cash is removed
THIS STORY IS UNVERIFIED BUT PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO OR READ THE TRANSCRIPT AS IT GIVES AN VERY GOOD IDEA OF WHAT A CASHLESS SOCIETY WILL LOOK LIKE. And it ain't pretty

A single video report has come out of China claiming China's biggest cities are now cashless, not by choice, but by force. The report goes on to claim ATMs have gone dark, vaults are being emptied. And overnight (July 20 into 21), the digital yuan is the only currency allowed.

Republican News

..

Joe Lynch, Munster Republican Sinn Féin
September 11, 2003
A new appeal for information concerning the disappearance and murder of Armagh man Gareth O'Connor who vanished on his way to a Dundalk police station has been made by a man who was in prison with him.

Republican Sinn Féin spokeman Joe Lynch from Limerick was on remand for allegedly breaking bail conditions when he became friendly with Gareth O'Connor in Portlaoise prison.

Last night Mr. Lynch said that Gareth O'Connor had only spent a short time in the prison before being granted bail but he had impressed many Republicans with his vision and honesty.

"There is no doubt but that he was killed by people who call themselves Republicans but many people today take part in acts that tarnish Republicanism," said Mr. Lynch who is PRO for the Munster Executive of Republican Sinn Féin.

"Gareth O'Connor's family, his parents, partner and children are suffering because they cannot give him a Christian burial. This is a cruel way to treat any family and today I am appealing to anyone who has any information on what happened to come forward and inform the family.

"There can be no justification for prolonging the agony being suffered by his parents, Mark and Bernie and his partner and their children. No true Republican would be so callous as to kill a man and deny his family the right to a Christian burial.

"There are many unresolved questions surrounding the abduction and murder of Gareth O'Connor but first I am appealing for the return of his body to his family so that their unbearable agony may be brought to an end."

Seán McGoldrick, Dublin Republican Sinn Féin
September 11, 2003
Bertie Ahern may now be sorry he didn't listen to the anti-war in Iraq protesters who had called for the US to be denied the use of Shannon, the Crumlin cumann of Republican Sinn Féin said today.

Seán McGoldrick was commenting on the recent 640 job losses announced by the US company 3com in Blanchardstown and another 315 by Sneider in Celbridge.

"One of the cynical reasons put forward for allowing US military access to Shannon airport was because it was claimed that refusal would lead to US companies withdrawing investment from the State. We can be sure that if the US had been denied use of Shannon, as the huge numbers of protesters who took to the streets wanted, every announcement of lay-offs by multi-nationals would have been laid at our feet.

"We now see that these lay-offs are occurring anyway. We will not be fooled by people telling us neutrality has to be compromised to pacify multi-nationals who are in any case prepared to leave at any time that suits them," Seán McGoldrick.

Des dalton, Assistant Publicity Officer, Republican Sinn Féin
September 9, 2003
"Whilst welcoming the announcement yesterday ( Monday September 8 ) that political prisoners in Maghaberry prison are to be segregated 'arising from the so-called 'Steele Review', which found that the regime of enforced integration of Republican and Loyalist prisoners posed a serious risk to the health and safety of prisoners, Republican Sinn Féin points out that these risks were highlighted over two years ago by Republicans. All of these warnings were ignored by the British government, resulting in an ongoing campaign of physical violence directed against Republican prisoners."

"All of this of course was central to the British government's policy of criminalizing Republican prisoners, a core element of the overall 'Stormont Agreement' agenda of criminalizing Irish Republicanism. The long overdue segregation of political prisoners is but the first step in establishing the prisoner's right to political status, the same right for which the ten H Block hunger strikers gave their lives 22 years ago."

Mick Ryan, Limerick Republican Sinn Féin
September 9, 2003
The failure of the State to support the work of the Child Abuse commission that led to the resignation of the chairwoman indicates that the politicians are afraid to tackle the powerful religious orders, the Limerick Branch of Republican Sinn Féin stated today.

RSF local election candidate Mick Ryan from Ballynanty said that it now seems the State is not really serious about unearthing all the abuse against children in State institutions.

"The failure of the State indicates that the religious orders still have a powerful influence on the politicians," he said. "While the decision to investigate abuse in institutions run by the religious is welcome, the latest resignation must be questioned because it is obvious that this Administration is not co-operating fully with the commission.

"The whole area of state responsibility in the psychiatric institutions is another scandal and it too must be explored. Many men and women were abused both physically and sexually in state run mental institutions.

"The state cannot turn a blind eye to the abuse that was carried out in the name of the state - it is no use for the politicians to wash their hands Pontius Pilate like and walk away from the evidence now emerging of the awful treatment meted out to the men and women who were placed in state run mental institutions.

"The resignation of the commission chairperson is a serious setback to all the victims who suffered abuse in the institutions run by religious orders on behalf of the state. The state cannot continue to cover up for the religious orders - the ugly sins of the past must be faced and acknowledged and those responsible brought to justice."

good work. It is I believe only a matter of time before the truth behind psychiatric abuse in this country comes out. It is the untold story. I have done some radio journalism over the years and am working on interviews with people who have suffered as a result of psychiatry. It would be great to see some publications in this area. The anti/critical psychiatry movement is quite well organised across the water. Unfortunately nothing similiar has developed here.
