Mel Gibson turned on critics of his film The Passion, about Jesus

Christ, over claims that it is anti-Semitic but his language has ignited

a new controversy.

The ...actor and director said he was the target of "vehement

anti-Christian sentiment" but admitted that the row over his £16 million

self-financed film was good publicity.

In one of a series of inflammatory remarks quoted in this week's "The

New Yorker," Gibson accuses "modern secular Judaism" of trying "to blame

the Holocaust on the Roman Catholic Church."

"It's a lie. And it's revisionism," said Gibson, a follower of

Traditionalist Catholicism that still performs the Latin Tridentine

mass. "And they've been working on that one for a while."

His film, due to be released next Easter but so far without a

distributor, has been described as likely to fuel "hatred, bigotry and

anti-Semitism" by the Anti-Defamation League and has been criticized by

some Roman Catholic theologians.

Its commercial appeal is also open to question as it has been shot

entirely in Latin and Aramaic, the everyday language of Jesus and his

disciples. It is unclear whether it will be subtitled.

Its director portrays himself as caught up in a huge conflict between

"big realms that are warring and battling. You stick your head up and

you get knocked," he said.

"I didn't realise it would be so vicious. The acts against this film

started early. There is vehement anti-Christian sentiment out there and

they don't want it."

Gibson is not averse to dishing out venomous attacks of his own,

however, with one target Frank Rich, a New York Times columnist, who

implied that Gibson's father was "a Holocaust denier".

"I want to kill him," Gibson said of the columnist. "I want his

intestines on a stick. I want to kill his dog."

Gibson said: "He never denied the Holocaust. He just said there were

fewer than six million."

As proof of his desire to avoid confrontation, Gibson cited his decision

to cut a scene in which Caiaphas says "his blood be on us and on our

children" soon after Pontius Pilate washes his hands of the captive

Christ.

"I wanted it in," he said. "My brother said I was wimping out if I

didn't include it. But, man, if I included that in there, they'd be

coming after me at my house. They'd come to kill me."

The Roman catholic church as a conservative right wing institution in the 1940's blessed the nazis.

But thank god for renegade Catholic priests who sheltered and protected jews and partisans.

Thank God for catholic priests who stand with the poor and oppressed of the third world. Who inspire the poor and oppressed to organise and stand up for their human rights.

Thank God for the likes of father Pat buckley and the 'REAL' CATHOLIC church of the poor and the people.

The rich and respectable think their wealth brings them closer to God, the reality is their wealth, blocks them from the light of God, is a hindrance to them entering the Garden of heaven. For as the bible says it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of the needle, than for a rich bastard to get into heaven.

The rich with their privilege,pomp and fine clothes, think they should have a special place in church, they should sit up front, looking down their noses at the poor of the parish.

In reality rich snobs and hypocrites, who wear their religious servitude and piety like a medal, will taste the fires of hell, before God lets them into heaven.

Wasn't Hitler a Catholic?
And didn't he believe that he was "doing the work of god"?
I never realised Gibson was a member of the tridentine crowd, If that's the case, then he would also be a supporter of SPUC and the YD assholes.
As for him wanting to either rip out someones intestines or kill their dog, that displays a true xtian attitude.
Though I must say I would have sympathy for the dog.

Adolf was not a true catholic, he was a hypocrite who used the church, who hid behind the cover of the ultra right wing conservative catholic institution, as cover for his devout occult practises.

Adolf was proably baptised a Catholic.But was a firm pagan beliver in occult and Germanic folklore religions.As was the 3rd Reich,a religionless State.Catholicism and Luthernism were tolerated but were kept totally seperate from the State.

I am asking a simple question on a broad sweeping statemnt of historical accuracy or inaccuracy. I would have thought that would hardly be "drivel" as you describe it.If you delete "drivel" as you describe it you should have chopped out all the postings on Hitler and Gay S&M etc.BTW you must keep busy reading these posts of "drivel" INMHO 75% of the posts are outright lunacy.

What is so terrible about denying the holocaust anyway? This word has only come into common usage in the past twenty years or so. It was not heard of when I was a kid and yet we all knew about the concentration camps. What we didn't know about was the 20 million Russians who died in the war or the millions of Gypsies and Homosexuals and mental defectives and left wing trade unionists. We never hear much about that lot, do we? The Zionists have hijacked WW2 and try to make out that it was only the Jews who suffered under the Nazis. They are making an industry out of this Holocaust Show. Drip, drip, drip it goes on. We are never allowed to forget, are we?
The Russians never went on and on about all their people who were slaughtered. So why do the Jews keep banging on about it? ISRAEL. That is why. They want our sympathy still, after all these years of murdering Palestinian men, women and children and now Iraqi women and children not to mention Columbian and Nicaraguan and New York innocent people.
The Israelis keep this huge Holocaust propaganda machine going. Nobody must question the sacred facts. Why can't we? If any one does they are persecuted throughout the world. Mel Gibson is right to be concerned about his life. MOSSAD is a very efficient killing machine.
I wonder who really killed the pro-Palestinian Swedish politician?
