'Safeguarding' is becoming a big problem, and not just because it's being weaponised against conservatives, says Mary Gilleece. Children are being put at risk as criminal conduct is tolerated under 'safeguarding' rules.

THORP.

category national | environment | news report author Tuesday August 26, 2003 19:11author by iosaf Report this post to the editors

aka Windscale aka Sellafield.

In today's european edition of the English "Guardian" newspaper the headlines suggest that THORP will be closed at a cost of 30,000,000,000stg by 2010.

Throughout our lives, THORP/Windscale/Sellafield has been kept opened at the cost of our security, our peace of mind, the right of our unborn to gestate without ambient radiactive threat.
Further: at the cost of our SEA.

In May 2002 the present director of BNFL responsible for the THORP project accepted his post "on a temporary basis". He got the job because his predecessor Mc Laughlin quit.

No nuclear facility in Europe has been subject to as much disinformation as THORP. The list of lies and deception, manipulation and disregard for ordinary people's opinion is almost endless:

Falsification of safety records.
Falsification of inquiry reports.
Concealment of accidents.

there are more than fifty good articles in our archives on Sellafield/Thorp/windscale/MOX fuel.
