Church leaders are too quick to condemn Tommy Robinson and the Unite the Kingdom march, says Chris Larkin. We don't know what Jesus would have made of our politics, but we can?t just assume he?d have been a Lib Dem voter.

Enda Kenny makes important speech criticising Wasteful FF public spending

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Friday July 18, 2003 16:56author by young Fine Geal supporter Report this post to the editors

The leader of Irelands main opposition party lashed runaway public spending by the ff/pd government.

It is well time to cut wasteful social welfare spending and to stop throwing millions of Euros into the black hole known as the Public health service. Fine Geal the fastest growing party in Ireland again shows leadership when needed in this economic crisis, while the current government just throws money at the problem. It is also high time that Brian Cowan provided real support to the coalition war effort in Iraq and provided peacekeeping troops at a time when British and US soldiers are under pressure on a daily basis, just vague ff promises are not enough we have international responsibilities to uphold.

So you want to cut spending on Health and Social Welfare and increase spending on Defence so we can prop up America's occupation of Iraq? Madness.

You claim to be an opposition party but you attack the Government's opponents such as the Trade Unions more than you attack the Government. Madness.

You claim to be the fastest growing political party in Ireland despite suffering your second worst ever defeat in an election less than a year ago. Madness.

You claim to show leadership and you recruit an anti-asylum seeker racist candidate to your party. Madness.

I swear by Peter Hadden's ghost, I will join whatever political party brings me the battered, bleeding corpse of Fine Gael and ends the madness.

Is this in anyway related to anything that actually happened or is this just an attack on Enda Kenny taking up space on what is meant to be a newswire. I don't like FF or FG but that don't mean I should invent IMC postings to slag them off. I mean have FG not done enough bad stuff in reality?

So... was there an important Enda Kenny speech (sounds very unlikely on the face of it)

Fine Gael must be kept out of government at all costs. That scary young man John Deasy supports US-style drugs and alcohol policies. Let's keep the incompetant booze hounds in FF in power so we can all continue to get off our faces with impunity!
