Jump To Comment: 1 2 3 4 5 6Is Fairview the only Dublin anti-war group still meeting regularly?
It's an SWP attempt to formally set up a branch in the area, but as usual they refuse to goi under the SWP banner, and use a cover/front name for their activites.
By the way, hows the Anti-Nazi League doing?? Haven't see ye lot since the Haider Demo -whats wrong, so huge media grabbing Fascists in town lately, to give ye lots of media exposure?!!!
Poor Richard BB! I heard he became quite friendly with the make-up lady from RTE - He's on 9 cups of FairTrade coffee a day, as he tries to overcome the withdrawl symptoms, of no longer being the media's darling.....
I am a bit tired of people putting postings up on indymedia with no factual basis. The Fairview anti-war group consists of an incredibly dynamic bunch of people who happen to believe that the war hasn't ended yet, and who are deeply concerned about both present and future ramifications of current U.S. foreign policy. For this and other reasons, they wish to keep the momentum of resistance up. I know these people, and most of them have no party political affiliation. While there are about two-three SWP members involved in this group, there are about ten others (maybe more, attendance at the meetings varies but it's usually around ten or twelve) who have no allegiance to the SWP. So get your facts right before you start using this committed and motivated group of people to air your childish greviances against the Irish anti-war movement.
jesus anarchists are such morons cant they fuck off into the jungle and live in their communes with their weird clothes and stupid hair or something, never seen any anarchist trying to set up anti war groups of any sort that actually involves people who dont want to"live the lifestyle" that anarchists do,but then again seeing as most of them are rich kids who are just trying to be different why would they bother?
The Borg are a mythical group from Star Trek who think and speak with a single voice. Any quote from the Borg on indymedia can therefore be taken to represent how all Borg think and speak on that issue. Any resemblance to democratic centralism is probably intended.
Anarchists are a far too varied bunch who speak and think with a number of voices equal to the number of anarchists. Any quote from an anarchist on indymedia will probably not tell you what other anarchists may think or speak on the same issue.
To confuse matters further some of the Borg (woops I mean democratic centralists) have the habit of sneding posts to indymedia where they pretend they are anarchists. This happens in particular where they fear the loyality of these groups to the 'do nothing' doctrine. Such groups and individuals often find themselves under attack by posters with names like 'anarcho boy', 'eco-anarchist' or maybe even 'anarchy is the kay'? This is a tactic also practised by cops and it is known as 'divide and rule'.
Is this is what is happening here or is it simply that 'anarchy is the key' is simply someone who knows little about the Fairview group but who has been burnt by the IAWM in general? Draw your own conclusions but it is often useful to start by asking 'who gains' from this sort of post.
As soon as you master punctuation, you may like to turn your attention to serious reading on the Essenes. You may be confused here. But hey it's harm the first few bars of prejudice and I'm sure you'll pick them up!
Tackle "The Politics of Jesus" by John Howard Yoder" for an analysis of the Essenes, Zealaots, Christians and the options of the time.
Try "Demanding the Impossible- A History of Anarchism" for a sense of depth and width of the movement
