offsite link The Problem With ?Safeguarding? Wed Dec 17, 2025 13:56 | Mary Gilleece
'Safeguarding' is becoming a big problem, and not just because it's being weaponised against conservatives, says Mary Gilleece. Children are being put at risk as criminal conduct is tolerated under 'safeguarding' rules.

José Vosé activist with Confederación Campesina detained in France.

Sunday morning at 6am he was arrested at his farm and taken to Montpellier by helicopter.

José Bové is an ecologist and anti-capitalist/anti-globalist activist.

This is a "genetix snowball" type problem with a "French" twist.
read on....

In 1999 he was sentenced to 6 months for his part in an attack on a McDonalds Food Corporation Hunger outlet. He served only 44 days of that sentance after winning a presidential pardon which granted reprieve on the end of the sentance.

But two further sentances hung unserved.

In 1998 he attacked (with others, and with lots of internatiopnal support) fields of transgenetic Maize [corn] and in 1999 he attacked transgenetic Rice seeds.

He has ten months outstanding sentance to serve for these "offences".

His group hopes that their petition will win another Presidential pardon on July 14th.

However after yesterday's raid on his farm in which 80 armed gendarmes grabbed him, it seems likely that France is about to change it's own rules on transgenetic foods, crops and seeds.

This ought be of serious concern to all activists in Ecological and anti-Genetic circles.
