Old Head of Kinsale photos (At last!)

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Wednesday May 21, 2003 13:18author by Walther Schwieger - Free the Old Head of Kinsale Campaign Report this post to the editors

Sorry about the delay but finally some photos of last Sunday's People's Picnic at the Old Head of Kinsale.

Photos show large garda and private security force blocking the entrance to the Old Head of Kinsale.

Propagandists for the O'Connor brothers claimed that there were only 21 adults and 8 children at the People's Picnic. This was accepted without question by 96FM's Neil Prendeville despite the presence of a reporter on the scene from his station and it's sister station County Sound 103FM (Bandon). Of course this is not about numbers anyway, it's about principles, but the number we counted was 76 - not a good turnout, but given the appalling weather and the intimidating security presence we made our point.

Not in the photo were the large number of private heavies lining the walls on either side of the gate and clad in tory blue vests with the Old Head Golflinks official crest (The Stone of Accord - ha ha!).

The 'gentleman' in the close-up is Mr. Jim O'Brien, chief henchman of the O'Connors.

As usual Law triumphed over Justice in the recent Supreme Court case and as usual the alleged upholders of law stand with those with land and money.

Well, the camera doesn't lie. There was at least 1 very large garda present, the fat git.

Those yellow jackets make the fat garda look like Laa Laa from the Teletubbies.

Pity they don't have them in green (Dipsy), red (Po) and blue (Tinky Winky).

Well they do have red bibs but there seems to be disagreement amongst the inteligencia on indymedia whether they're ERU or 'tecs on O/T.

Personally I doubt that they're ERU since I've walked past a few of them and never been shot. Maybe they're secret police!!!

What have we teletubbies done to deserve a slam like that!?

No garda yet been blessed with our cuddly charm.

And tinky winky is not blue - he's purple and proud of it.

humph!
