Clarity its a great pity that at the start you could not have clarified what you were on about. But as to the chest beating about 'peaceful protest' what are you on about. Is there a suggestion that it should be non-peaceful. Or is this whole discussion really about something else alltogether.

Perhaps if you actually identified yourself things would become a little clearer? Or would this reveal a little bit too much about what this has all been really about.

Another issue is that the WSM has no right to call this a 'mass tresspass' when nobody (least of all the organizers) has decided that it should be such.

The point is that this gig will be different from previous ones because of the supreme court judgement. To advertise it as a mass trespass (when none has been organised by anyone!) gives the club and the cops a great excuse for coming down heavy and acting the shithead. And Andrew don't try preaching to someone whose been at all the protests on the Old Head. Don't know where you get your info from but it aint accurate. Again, lay off the mythmaking - this is a straightforward protest that has been successful because of the numbers that turn up and force the club to back down. Its a PEACEFUL protest, ALWAYS HAS BEEN, and will remain so.

The supreme court of ireland decided this would be a mass trespass when they ruled that walking and golfing were incompatible. that's all right though, we haven't run out of tactics. hope to see ye all there.

This is a weird semantic argument, if the purpose of it is to protect people from prosecution then it might be helpful to at least hint at this. Right now you seem to be raving at the use of what I thought was an accurate term.

On this one as I understand also happened at other times once a certain number of people had scaled the fence the owner THEN allowed the gate to be opened to allow everyone else there to walk in. I guess this is probably for insurance reasons?

But what's with the fuss? Its all a little weird but I presume there is some logiv behind it. Care to explain?

There have never been mass trespasses at the Old Head. The routine was set a long time back - a crowd of protesters would gather at the fence and after a bit the gates (or side-gate that is) would oppen to allow people to walk in and down to lighthouse. All allowed by golf club owners who did fear a mass trespass (that they couldn't control) taking place. Some people did go over the fence on occasion (and, famously, there was a seaward landing once) but no mass trespass took place. Force of numbers caused the club to back down each time and facilitate access. Regarding James McB - he was up for something he didn't do or have you muppets forgotten that. Get real and stop exaggerating and making false claims!! We have enough mythmaking in this country.

Have turned into mass trespasses, its reasonable to assume this one will also. The Cork members of WSM have always been in the forefront of these protests. As has been proved by James McBs conviction.

What have Sean and 'someone' done about KInsale Head?

For the record: this protest is being organized by the Free the Old Head Campaign/CPA and not the WSM. Will their two Cork members even be there? Maybe they (WSM duo) are organizing a trespass separete from the main demo.

Won't make it myself, but best of luck to all who go down. Look forward to reading the report about it on Monday.
Maybe the next time give a bit more notice so people can plan around it.
