![]() Racism is being stirred up by the Authorities and should be addressed by Anti-war campaigners The issue of Racism is something that many activists wish to see dealt with by the anti-war movement. The use of anti-israeli slogans by many on the demonstrations is something that should be discussed. The shouting of these slogans turns many in the Israeli/Irish community away. I think that this should be addressed. The issue of Palestine is very much linked up with the Iraqi war, but it should be dealt with sensitivly. The Racism of the authorities, especially the US administration, should be highlighted. All Iraqis in the USA will be visited by the US Authorities over the next while, this is clearly scapegoating of the Iraqi community in the USA. Foreign Nationals in the USA, especially Arabs, are very vulnerable to racist attacks that are being stirred up by the Bush adminstration and the US media. I'm a non-Irish national studying here in Ireland, I would be very interested to hear what left wing activists have to say on this issue |
