This is a public interest story about a complete failure of governance and management at UCC.

offsite link Deliberate Design Flaw In ChatGPT-5 Sun Aug 17, 2025 08:04 | Mind Agent
Socratic Dialog Between ChatGPT-5 and Mind Agent Reveals Fatal and Deliberate 'Design by Construction' Flaw
This design flaw in ChatGPT-5's default epistemic mode subverts what the much touted ChatGPT-5 can do... so long as the flaw is not tickled, any usage should be fine---The epistemological question is: how would anyone in the public, includes you reading this (since no one is all knowing), in an unfamiliar domain know whether or not the flaw has been tickled when seeking information or understanding of a domain without prior knowledge of that domain???!

This analysis is a pretty unique and significant contribution to the space of empirical evaluation of LLMs that exist in AI public world... at least thus far, as far as I am aware! For what it's worth--as if anyone in the ChatGPT universe cares as they pile up on using the "PhD level scholar in your pocket".

According to GPT-5, and according to my tests, this flaw exists in all LLMs... What is revealing is the deduction GPT-5 made: Why ?design choice? starts looking like ?deliberate flaw?.

People are paying $200 a month to not just ChatGPT, but all major LLMs have similar Pro pricing! I bet they, like the normal user of free ChatGPT, stay in LLM's default mode where the flaw manifests itself. As it did in this evaluation.

Evaluating Semantic Reasoning Capability of AI Chatbot on Ontologically Deep Abstract (bias neutral) Thought
I have been evaluating AI Chatbot agents for their epistemic limits over the past two months, and have tested all major AI Agents, ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Perplexity, and DeepSeek, for their epistemic limits and their negative impact as information gate-keepers.... Today I decided to test for how AI could be the boon for humanity in other positive areas, such as in completely abstract realms, such as metaphysical thought. Meaning, I wanted to test the LLMs for Positives beyond what most researchers benchmark these for, or have expressed in the approx. 2500 Turing tests in Humanity?s Last Exam.. And I chose as my first candidate, Google DeepMind's Gemini as I had not evaluated it before on anything.

offsite link Israeli Human Rights Group B'Tselem finally Admits It is Genocide releasing Our Genocide report Fri Aug 01, 2025 23:54 | 1 of indy
We have all known it for over 2 years that it is a genocide in Gaza
Israeli human rights group B'Tselem has finally admitted what everyone else outside Israel has known for two years is that the Israeli state is carrying out a genocide in Gaza

Western governments like the USA are complicit in it as they have been supplying the huge bombs and missiles used by Israel and dropped on innocent civilians in Gaza. One phone call from the USA regime could have ended it at any point. However many other countries are complicity with their tacit approval and neighboring Arab countries have been pretty spinless too in their support

With the release of this report titled: Our Genocide -there is a good chance this will make it okay for more people within Israel itself to speak out and do something about it despite the fact that many there are actually in support of the Gaza

This story is unverified but it is very instructive of what will happen when cash is removed
THIS STORY IS UNVERIFIED BUT PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO OR READ THE TRANSCRIPT AS IT GIVES AN VERY GOOD IDEA OF WHAT A CASHLESS SOCIETY WILL LOOK LIKE. And it ain't pretty

A single video report has come out of China claiming China's biggest cities are now cashless, not by choice, but by force. The report goes on to claim ATMs have gone dark, vaults are being emptied. And overnight (July 20 into 21), the digital yuan is the only currency allowed.

IRISH ANTI WAR MOVEMENT
18/03/03
WAR IMMINENT - BUILD URGENTLY FOR STOPPAGE AND PROTESTS - SIPTU BACK STOPPAGE-NEEDED LEAFLETERS/POSTERERS

War is now imminent. It is likely that it will commence in the early hours of Thursday morning. So Thursday is likely to be Day X. Time is short. We must work to ensure huge protests on that day and the weekend following. SIPTU the countries largest trade union has now publically endorsed the ten minute stoppage at midday on day X and the other protests. This is hugely significant and will make it much easier to rally support for the the stoppage and subsequent protests that evening at 6pm and the mass demonstrations next Saturday. However, we stil need to push support for the stoppage and protests ourselves at a local and shopfloor level. The key to delivering action on these things wiull be every individual anti war activist raising the issue of the stoppage with their workmates, classmates, neighbours today and tommorow. If every person who recieves this e-mail can convince some or all of their workmates to stop work at noon of Day X this will make the stoppage work. Also try and make it as public as you can. If people are agreed to the stoppage try and do something for the ten minutes eg Get everybody out on the street or outside the workplace wearing a white armband are holding a home made banner or placard. Even a piece of paper with "no war" or peace written on it would be good. Even better make a banner tonight that you can hang out of your workplace, house window or a bridge near you. Some groups are organising for someone to read anti war poem or give a short speech at their workplace protest. Im sure people will have their own ideas as well but the main thing is to get commitments from workmates etc now.

To help build up the momentum for the protest there are tens of thousands of leaflets and posters available. Again time is short but if you want leaflets to distribute in your workplace, school, college, local area phone 087-6329511. Also we are trying to organise city centre postering and leafleting all day tomorrow. Anybody not at work or available and willing to do stuff ring the above nummber also.

The Main Dublin protest on Day X will be at the US Embassy at 6pm. Again you need to start spreading the word now, giving out leaflets telling everybody to get to the US embassy the evening of any attack. For those in Dublin City Centre we will have a presence outside Dail Eireann from 12am on the day of any attack. Anybody who works near by or who is off and can get down should. If as looks likely Day X is Thursday our protest outside the Dail will coincide with a debate in the Dail on Shannon. The Dail has been reconvened especially to debate the issue. This will be an imporetaqnce last chance to demand our government have nothing to do with this war. The protest will go on from at least 12 till 2pm.

Outside Dublin all towns and cities will be organising protests in their town centre at 6pm on the evening of an attack. (See local posters for details). If one is not organisised in your town try and organise one yourself. Even a vigil with a few people will be an important contribution to the national and international protests that will be taking place.

Finally, don't forget we want to see mass demonstrations in the major cites on the Saturday following (almost certainly this Saturday.) The Cities where protests are due to happen are Dublin (Assemble Central Bank, 2pm), Cork (1pm Daunt Sq), Galway, Waterford, Belfast and Derry. We are asking everyone else to go to one of these larger protests rather than stay in their own town on Saturday, if that is possible. It is important that the numbers are very large. On that day a few huge protests will be more effective than lots of small ones. This is the plan in the rest of the world where most of the weekend protests will take place in Capitals or very large cities. This means for example, Drogheda, Wicklow, Meath, Kildare, Offally, Longford, Carlow should go to the Dublin demonstration. People should start arranging transport to the Saturday protest nearest them now.

Finally, many of the local anti war groups and branches will be meeting this week. If you want to be put in touch with a local group tel 087-6329511

Regards. Richard Boyd Barrett, chair Irish Anti War Movement.

From Padraig Pearse

"And I say to my people's masters: Beware,
Beware of the thing that is coming, beware of the risen people,
Who shall take what ye would not give. Did ye think to conquer the people,
Or that Law is stronger than life and than men's desire to be free?
We will try it out with you, ye that have harried and held,
Ye that have bullied and bribed, tyrants, hypocrites, liars! "

Now is not the time for debates over tactics. Do not waste this opportunity with your parish pump poltics. The momentum of the groundswell of opinion against war has already dissipated by the farce (on both sides) at Shannon.

If you want to "fuck shit up" go ahead and do it. Each to their own. Do not sit in your trenches slinging shite back and forth at each other.
