8th March Global Woman's Strike in Shannon

Global Women's Strike events on the 8th March, co-ordinated by the International Wages for Housework Campaign, with participation by women and their organisations in over 70 countries. Phone Maggie on 087 7838688 for more information. Website: http://womenstrike8m.server101.com

*10.15am Town Hall Theatre, Galway: Breakfast for all women (small charge), Women speak out against war and to demand back the military budget for our
caring work in word, song and performance. All welcome, even if you can't come to Shannon. Playwright John Arden and poet Rab Swannock Fulton will read from their work as one of a number of contributions by men in support. Lelia
Doolan and other women will also read.

*11.15am: Strike bus and cars leave for Shannon with stops to meet other women and make our voices heard along the way - 12.45pm stop in ENNIS market square.

*2.30pm join women from all over Ireland at Shannon airport, archway: short march (with transport for those who can't walk/find walking difficult), non-party-political grassroots speak-out at the airport terminal, music, song and much more.

Strike bus: 10 euro (waged), 5 euro (unwaged) & children go free
