Thank Lockdowns for the Worst Budget in History Sat Nov 22, 2025 13:00 | Will Jones
We're a week away from the most painful Budget in history thanks largely to the eye-watering cost of lockdown. Yet Baroness Hallett says next time the Government must be ready to go harder and faster. This is insanity.

Taxpayers Are Charged for the BBC Whether They Like it or Not Sat Nov 22, 2025 11:00 | Charlotte Gill
It's bad enough that all UK TV users are forced to fund the BBC via a TV licence. But it's worse than that, says Charlotte Gill: millions of pounds of taxpayers' money are handed to the corporation via backdoor channels.

Ah dear american one, sitting patiently in your cubicle, a slow night monitoring Oirish attempts to undermine the empire.
Well you know your history, fair play. How's your geography? Your cultural studies are slipping though, in honour perhaps of the great god mammon, we are indeed invited by those who decree such things (mammies and the like) to wear the green, white and gold for the day that's in it.
p.s. the orange parades' in july, perhaps we could combine the two like you say, t'would have to be sometime in May then I guess, like it was a few years back when that sheep in Louth got a touch of flu.
I have to agree with Conor, Ireland is the focus of worldwide media attention on March 17th when is there a better date for letting the world know how we the people of Ireland really feel.
It would hit home in the states if while watching the paddies day parades from the auld sod that they kept seeing Anti War posters and banners in the crowd. It would make an impact!
The way things are going the war is going to start soon we will not have such a big audience again for a long time.
Think about it!
Thousands of Anti War posters would be seen in the crowds at the protests.
Nice intiative, for once stop getting drunk in the pubs and march on the streets!
See my previous post ... http://www.indymedia.ie/cgi-bin/newswire.cgi?id=30408&start=40.
There's nothing to celebrate on March 17th. The government called it off for a few sick cows not so long ago (foot & mouth) but we seem not to care about the imminent rape of Iraq and whatever other countries the Bush Junta have next on their lists!
Black flags and clothes will be highly visible and good for writing slogans on in white so they can be seen on TV screens worldwide whereas white, green or orange will only be confused with the usual shamrockery!
By making the Shannon March 1st protest successful, whether you show solidarity at the Pink flags, courage at the White flags or march with the IAWM there can be a cause for celebration on the 17th.
