news report
Saturday January 25, 2003 17:19 by The Carrickminders
![]() On Monday (27th) the archeological contract is up on Carrickmines Castle. They are going to try to remove part of the wall and move it elsewhere. We dont plan to let them do this. We need people out here urgently. Once the archeologists are gone the National Roads Authority can move in whenever they chose. It all starts now. We need people to come out this weekend at any time to help prepare for Monday. Anyone who can stay Sunday night We have loads of room. We are now in the house which is much warmer and more comfortable. Anyone who hasn't seen the site yet, this could be your last chance. It's a beautiful area and soon it will be an industrial estate, a shopping centre, a roundabout and a motorway. The National Roads Authority recently entered into discussion with the Carrickminders and agreed to look at new proposals for the roundabout (which appears to exist only to facilitate Jackons Way land) but refuse to move the motorway. We dont want to see this piece of history destroyed and we need your help to prevent this from happening. Call the site phone on 087 9627243 and come on out today. |
