Yet last night I could share a table with a young couple expecting their first child both of Isreali nationality, and be told nothing is wrong in Bethlehem and it is Israel.

Israel today under the leadership of Ariel Sharon has insulted us all.

Europe as in the European Union has invested in access of 4 billion € in the reconstruction and development of Palestine in support of the Israeli / Palestinian peace process.

We paid for (through our taxes and capitalism) for

one airport.
over twenty schools
over fifteen hospitals and medical facilities.

Israel has destroyed all of these facilities.
Isreal owes Europe over 4billion €.

Europe now (in the form of the EU) is considering it´s communality and heritage for the forthcoming constitution.
My priorities and I suppose yours,
are
1. enshrining of common rights such access to housing (squatting)
2. enshrining the neutrality of Ireland, Sweden, Austria and Finland and allowing for future states to be neutral.
3. Provisions for the emergence of future states (Catalonia, Basque countries etc.,)

Giscard d´Estaing is considering the question of Christianity as an integral part of European identity.

Israel obviously has not given much thought to our integral indentity.

I have been appalled as many to see anti-semitism rise in Europe this last year, I do not believe that the actions of SHaron can be judged the will of a people especially when thought of as a religious group.

But I am equally appalled by today´s actions.

MY profession is organist, I am trained to provide background music and effects for such religious ceremonies and the discussions that often ensue there-after. I suppose the organist in Bethlehem is well pissed off.
