Thirty Left-wing MPs have written to Ofcom to press it to censor X under the Online Safety Act. The evidence of 'hate' on the platform is threadbare, but it's obvious why they want to clip its wings, says Laurie Wastell.

LIVELINE NOW - COPPERS AND RTS

Copper called Cyril on Liveline (Radio 1) now digging a very big hole for himself. :)

Gardai like the PSNI have for a long time now been a law all unto themselves. Dishing out beatings, as if that wasnt bad enough, dragging members of the public through the courts and legal system. Dont forget the Donegal Gardai, harassing pub owners and planting their own explosives, which they later then 'discover' and reap all manner of praise and promotion for.

Well, at least that retired copper, Cyril, was bring honest, none of the usual PR shite that you usually hear. He basically said what every other copper is thinking, i.e. that the only people on Dame St that day were 'thugs'. Good on him, I say. If the guards haven't learnt from the past few weeks that certain situations call for a bit of cautionary discretion, especially when talking to the media, well then....and anyway, people need reminding sometimes of the type of reprobate scum we're dealing with here that masquerade in many people's minds as just 'a few bad apples'.

I heard Aidan on the radio during lunch... very well spoken (well done!). He was all over the former-gardai who called in to defend the police who won't name those who beat up people at the RTS. Well done again!!
