Sex sells, says Lee Taylor, and that is something many brands, caught up in the joyless theatre of modern virtue-signalling, could well stand to relearn.

Dublin is one of the worst EU cities in which to live

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Friday October 04, 2002 16:43author by Phuq Hedd Report this post to the editors

Irish Independent: Dublin scores low on infrastructure, culture, health

Bernard Purcell in the Irish Independent reports on findings by the Economist Intelligence Unit that Dublin has eff-all infrastructure, a lack of culture and a poor health-and-safety compared to other E.U. cities.

Can this possibly mean that our political masters have squandered the EU lolly on building ranches on their farms down the country? Could it mean that the wonderful prosperity that we "all" benefitted from was actually cash flowing into the pockets of a few people? Could it mean that the people waiting for cancer treatments, the hard workers that are being denied the pathetic sub-inflationary pay "raises", the people being kicked out of their recycling jobs at IGB were being lied to about The Celtic Tiger?

Does it mean that our trusted leaders were busy not implementing a decent rail system and instead spent their time choosing what type of new minishterial mothor to buy?

I think it does, and in order to remedy this I'm going to vote for the new and improved Europe offered by the Nice Treaty. This new Europe will allow British, German and French gombeen men to exploit me instead of homegrown gombeens.

Ireland with its tiny population and anglo-american speaking workforce and lack of pre EU infrastructure proved to be an ideal model for "hyper-capitalist" development plans.
Think where the money went.
8billion € for a start.
you might ask the government.
but beware of their email addresses.
better to collar a civil servant directly.
get a calculator or a sharp pencil and paper.
do maths.
maths is great.
look at the tax breaks given to muli-national-corporations for using Ireland as a short-term base.
Pretend you are a multi-national-corporation CEO.
The man at the top.
(Very few women up there at the top of patriarchy)
Pretend you´re doing twenty year forecasts.
=poor little rascals.
when the multi-nats have packed up and gone east we will still be chasing their corruption and lies.
UNDER YOUR FEET!
