Houses without people
people without Homes.
Isn΄t it time for a debate on "occupation" in Ireland?
Or do we go on surviving on state "assistance"?
Or do the homeless go on being "squeezed out",
deemed parasites packed off on the boat to England and beyond?
Well maybe so at least there΄s a candle lit for them somewhere.

Its debatable how much these centres help the unemployed. Perhaps they help keep a few people in fairly well paid jobs as long as they dont rock any boats and keep the unemployed from getting bolshie etc. The acid test will be what these centres do on the Nice referendum? Will they even bother to scratch themselves? or will they be too afraid to upset Bertie?

each centre has its own management committee; so they won't all necessarilly follow the ictu line.

the salary of a centre manager is that of a CE scheme supervisor. no one gets rich working in the centres.

I would like to believe you pat c, but lets see how many of them bring banners or placards to the anti war march tomorrow! and lets see how many of these 'independent' centres publicly take a stand and campaign against the Nice referendum. The total last time out it was a total of zero, now what does that tell you?
