#SOSEcuador: Exigimos el cese de la violencia por parte del gobierno ecuatoriano

Colectivos y organizaciones firmantes denunciamos la inconstitucionalidad del toque de queda impuesto en Ecuador desde hoy sábado 12 de octubre a las 3 pm. Exigimos que se levante esta medida excesiva por ser un mecanismo que pone en riesgo la seguridad y la vida de los y las manifestantes.

Frente a la inminente intensificación del uso de la fuerza del estado Ecuatoriano, demandamos el cese de cualquier acción que pueda vulnerar la integridad física del pueblo ecuatoriano en movilización desde hace 10 días.

Rechazamos el recrudecimiento de los hechos violentos, especialmente en aquellos lugares determinados como corredores de paz y/o ayuda humanitaria. Éstos han sido atacados desde hace tres días socavando el derecho a la protesta social.

Identificamos que la escalada de violencia de los últimos días es también responsabilidad del gobierno al no responder las demandas sociales por vía del diálogo, y orillando a la movilización social, que en Ecuador es un derecho constitucional reconocido desde 2007. Los y las ciudadanas han sido criminalizadas y atacadas directamente, en especial las organizaciones, colectivos e integrantes de las nacionalidades originarias. Nuestros compañeros y compañeras están buscando un diálogo con medidas de paz a quienes se ha respondido con un inconstitucional toque de queda.

Responsabilizamos al presidente Lenín Moreno, a María Paula Romo (Ministra del Interior), y a Oswaldo Jarrín (Ministro de Defensa), por el uso desmedido de la fuerza pública que ha derivado en la privación de la vida de personas, ataques a su integridad personal detenciones arbitrarias, torturas, malos tratos y desapariciones.

Repudiamos el accionar de los medios de comunicación masivos del Ecuador que en una actitud imparcial han tomado posición con el discurso oficial fortaleciendo un cerco mediático, estigmatizando y criminalizando la legítima lucha del pueblo ecuatoriano.

Reconocemos que la movilización, liderada por el movimiento indígena, cuenta con un amplio apoyo popular. Desde un inicio esta movilización se ha planteado como una lucha pacífica y con demandas claras. Hay un consenso de la derogatoria del “paquetazo” y la intensificación de la agenda extractivista.

Miramos críticamente la oleada de violencia y persecusión que se vive en muchos territorios del continente. En el día de la resistencia de nuestros pueblos, el pueblo ecuatoriano resiste hoy como ayer.
