Chris Packham has hit back at claims made on GB News that half the world's population could die under Net Zero. But that seems like a fair estimate of the catastrophic harm of deindustrialisation, says Chris Morrison.

From the 3,200 acre solar farm built on prime green belt farmland in Oxford to the 16 million Scottish trees felled to make way for wind farms, somehow we have to save the environment from the greens, says Alan Bunce.

Clean Coasts Week May 8th - 17th & National #2minutebeachclean Day May 17th

category national | environment | event notice author Friday May 01, 2015 23:52author by beachcomber Report this post to the editors

Celebrate Ireland’s spectacular coastline by getting involved in Clean Coasts Week 2015. The week runs from May 8th – 17th May and there are many ways for you to get involved.

We have all seen the evidence of marine litter along our coastline so for all you beach lovers out there here’s an opportunity to do something positive to combat the problem and also raise awareness about the issue. Why not create your own beach clean event or participate in one. Every piece of litter removed from the coast is a piece of litter that won’t pollute our oceans or harm wildlife.

All during the Clean Coasts weeks there are various events and talks on marine themes around the country. See the events page of the Clean Coasts website for more details. http://cleancoasts.org/events

National Beach Clean Day - Sat May 17th
Clean Coasts are holding their annual National #2minutebeachclean day on May 17th. Our aim is to engage as many people as possible in this BIG IMPACT initiative. On May 17th we are asking everyone who goes to the beach whether it’s for surf, swim or walk to do their very own #2minutebeachclean.

Take a snap of the litter collected and post your snap on instagram/twitter/facebook with the tags @cleancoasts #2minutebeachclean. It’s as easy as that and be in with a chance to win a Clean Coasts t-shirt!

Help a coastline you love by taking part in Clean Coasts Week. Clean-up kits are available which include gloves, bags, data collection cards, posters and high-vis vests. Sign up online now or give us a call on 01 4002210 to get your clean-up kit!
