As part of the Latin America Week 2014 LASC is glad to invite you the launch of the Photo Exhibition: ¡Pitalito Resiste! The exhibition tells the story of the Pitalito community, an internally displaced community of small scale farmers in Colombia, who returned to their land in May of 2013. LASC has been accompanying the community since the process began. This photo-story is a celebration of their resistance and unity as they stand up for land rights, but also documents serious security concerns for land restitution leaders in Colombia. It gives an important glimpse into the reality of forced displacement - a phenomenon that has affected over 6 million people in Colombia to date. |
