![]() International Day to Demand the Release of Georges Abdallah Lebanese revolutionary communist Georges Abdallah has spent 29 years in a French prison for acts of resistance against the Israeli occupation of his country. He has been eligible for release since 1999. He was finally granted parole by a French court on 10th January 2013, on the condition that he be deported to Lebanon. The French authorities have however refused to sign the required deportation order and as a result Georges remains in detention at the whim of the French government despite the court ruling to free him. On Wednesday 27th February activists across the world will be staging acts of solidarity with Georges and demanding his release. |

Great to see something organised for Georges in Ireland. A true revolutionary hero!
