This week Occupy Galway presents a series of talks, hosted at the contemporary arts exhibition 'Apposite Extravaganza:Cheating Progress', at Exchange House, Fairgreen Road (next to the Radisson Hotel). Find us by the tent on the second floor, bring some chalk if you have a message to share.

On Tuesday at 4.30pm: Vicky Donnelly from the Anglo Not Our Debt campaign will give a talk on the Anglo bonds, promissory notes and lessons from the Global South.

On Wednesday at 2pm, Mary Burke from the 'reverse the rent cap campaign' will talk about how she got involved in the campaign as well as talking about the effects of the rent cap on the thousands of families and individuals who rely on rent
allowance, many of whom face eviction if the cap is not reversed.

On Thursday at 5pm we have philosopher and NUIG lecturer Miles Kennedy, who gave a talk entitled 'What is your Occupation?' which was very warmly received at the Occupy Galway camp in Eyre Square. Miles has since given a re-written version of the paper at an invited seminar at Nottingham Trent University and he is currently working on a version for publication. He will be giving an adapted version entitled 'What is your occupation?: Politics and the work of art'.

All are welcome.

More details about the exhibition and it's curator can be found here http://www.jimricks.info/
