![]() The legacy of the Celtic tiger There are over 600 ghost estates in Ireland. This equates to nearly 20.000 properties which are incomplete or empty. This short film takes the viewer on a tour of a Ghost estate in Rooskey, Co Leitrim,Ireland. These developments are as a result of unregulated planning and flawed environmentalism. All properties were falling into disrepair. It is likely that these houses will be demolished even though they are approx 3-5 years old. Brian Cowen talks about Irish economic recovery. Jump To Comment: 1these houses should be given to people on the housing list, thus saving the large ongoing cost of rent allowance for the state.
Its a lot cheaper to patch up a few problems than build new houses for homeless people.
However they'd rather level them to try and push up real estate prices for the rich than give them to the poor.
Thats greed for you..
