GERARD GREENE Ireland/Denmark
Gerard Greene was born in Dublin in 1956 , finished his education at the National College of Art and Design in 1991 and is currently living and working in Dublin. Gerard worked in Denmark for a number of years, and on graduating returned there where he had his first exhibition of printmaking at Gallery Arthouse Copenhagen in April1992. Gerard was a member of the Graphic Studio from 1993 to 1997 and continues to exhibit at the studios gallery group shows. Although Gerard is primarily a printmaker he works with painting and multimedia,he is a member of the Freie Klasse art group having exhibited at their Better World exhibition in Munich 1998 and at other venues since then. Gerard has exhibited widely in Denmark, Germany and Ireland, and has worked at art teaching and paint restoration since 1995 and this experience has enriched his work. Artists Statement Color, energy, reflection, loss, tension, distance and places inhabited are some of words which would describe Gerard Greene work. Elements and color interact to create mood, rhythms and echoes. However the qualities are not all formal, the work allows glimpses into a more personal world, where the past is made present.

PATRICK MCGLYNN – Ireland (shakuhachi )As a musician, Patrick is especially fascinated by the creative impulse, synchronicity and exploring the soul through sound. Most recently, he has performed at the Kilkenny Arts Festival, the Brazilian Computer Music Symposium and the ABSOLUT Fringe. Patrick is currently lecturing at NUI Maynooth, where he is developing radically new ways to perform music using multi-touch surfaces www.patrickmcg.com The shakuhachi is a Japanese end-blown flute. It is traditionally made of bamboo, but versions now exist in ABS and hardwoods. It was used by the monks of the Fuke school of Zen Buddhism in the practice of suizen (吹禅? , blowing meditation). Its soulful sound made it popular in 1980s pop music in the English-speaking world. They are often made in the minor pentatonic scale.

ROCCO ANTICO - Italy (flute)Rocco Antico started playing the flute in the Music Academy Pescara Italy ,Phd in performance arts with National Drama Academy “Silvio D’amico” L’Aquila and Rome. He took part in “Peter and The Wolf” as a musician and he directed the live Music of the play “Medea” in L’Aquila, Italy. Several collaborations in educational drama and different music collaborations with jazz bands in Italy and Ireland.

OLTREMARA Oltremara's vision is to introduce the Mediterranean's musical and folk heritage to a new audience and to create a cultural fusion of the traditional music, song and dance of Southern Italy and Ireland. The band members met in Ireland by chance and all of them come from different musical and dance backgrounds. Inspired by traditional dance and ancient folk tales, all of the band's songs reflect their cultural heritage while experimenting with new sounds to bring a fresh and exciting experience to their audience.
Oltremara is: ELIANA VALENTINI(tamburello, percussion, dance) ANTONELLA DI PALO (voice and dance) GERRY ANDERSON (guitar and mandolin)
