The media trap was in place and carried out in a professional manner. It is not possible for Marty to know full details of every military operation and to know the names of the volunteers involved. The scene yesterday made for great radio and television but had little to do with seeking justice. In my opinion the death of both the garda and free state soldier was as a result of friendly fire. Bik had all charges in this case dropped and was released because perhaps there was no valid evidence that any shots were fired by the IRA active service unit involved. I think Marty handled the difficult situation yesterday very well. At least he did not call the republicans involved traitors.
I have no problem with my old friend Marty in the Aras. Indeed, I would be surprised if I were not on his first guest list. My problem is why did Marty leave the IRA in 1974. Did someone say something unkind to him, in my experience he is not a man to offend. People believed in Marty, trusted Marty and following Marty's military path. Yet here we are, blessed are the peacemaker and damned are the republicans. Makes no sense. Harris a republican- now you are having a laugh.
Eoghan Harris is another redundant republican, though well paid in his present Sunday pulpit perch. He and the RR above (if they be different) should pool their considerable animus and get behind Gallagher, now that David Norris has imploded and Gay Mitchell has exploded.
The shinners have flooded the party in the free state with stage struck, clue less idiots. They have ambitions to have their photo taken with Marty and Gerry, they want to walk down their estate or street with these heros on an election canvas. Can you hear them now," I met Marty, I talked to Marty, Marty said to me". Of course you will be voting for Marty, your the brain dead type in Sinn Fein that will rise to the top. Cant think, knows nothing, is not a republican- do I smell a future Sinn Fein councillor here.
cuts both ways. Who sank the country's prospects for the next generation?SF or Anglo-Irish?
Maybe the Northern Bank redistributors deserve a medal for setting an example.
Its Minister Burton is dipping my pockets, not SF.
RR, keep going, and I may even get off me arse and vote...for McG, because of the comfortable boats he seems to rock. Its reads as though you have a personal bone to pick. Just vote for Mitchell and get over it.
Marty accepts the average industrial wage- through the books, all cash and northern bank transactions are his own business. The shinners are great at these gimmics to win support .No one forgets the truth, they just get better at lying.
Mr McGuinness is running for President of the Republic of Ireland. I wish him well but I don't think he will get over the line due to the vagueries of the PR system. Transfers will be vital so I think Michael D will get it. Brian Lenihan snr won the vote on first preferences when he ran against Robinson.
The fact that he can run for election in RoI should be a cause for celebration for Republicans. We know the 6 counties are still "occupied". It just underlines the great work McGuinness and Adams have done, against the opposition of "purists" in the Republican community, let's not even mention Loyalism and whatever your having yourself.
If he does get over that line, it wil be largely due to the hysterical reactions of people like yourself and Gabby Mitchell, and the poverty of the other candidates.
The media panic at his clever use of the obscene wage-scale reduction ploy has obviously scared the lights out of our ascendancy, who worship verbal rather than active leadership. Major transgression of the rightist consensus.
If you drop your personal animus your argument might gain a little credibility. Or do you favour Dana as an alternative?
I am of the opinion that Marty's free state presidential campaign is irrelevant to the nationalist/republican voters in the occupied six counties simply because they can not vote for him in it. These events receive little coverage south of the british border so I fail to see the reason for them. Marty needs votes in the 26 county free state to win this election no matter how poor the opposition is. Is he and sinn fein expecting the sinn fein brand to carry him over the line. They may be right,I suppose stranger things have happened. Watching TV3 debate last night, I wondered has Marty bought and read all those books written about him by so many ill-informed writers/authors/journalists.
The last three posts were from an independent Republican, a Redundant Republican and an Idiot. None of them said anything of any
consequence whatsoever. Will somebody please post something worthwhile or else I'll have to go to bed and return to my recurring
nightmare of being Gay Mitchell's charm coach.
Marty launched his campaign to become Free State president in derry and is holding a rally in omagh, how many votes does he believe he will get in these areas? Marty get down to the free state now and do what you do best, LIE!
martin mcguinness gerry adams, denis donaldson and freddi scappaticci all had the same objectives
that is,to run down the PIRA militarily, take away their arms, and 'encourage them' to disband. which of course they succeded in doing
,two of these people were exposed as covert british agents at the heart of the PIRA and sinn féin,but all four ultimately had the same objectives-
,that is to implement the GFA which would decommision and destroy the PIRA ,which disbanded without achieving any stated objectives,in left the stage in utter defeat.
it wasnt defeated militarily,it was defeated politically, from within.all so the top lare of sinn fein could advance their political careers.
