"These courses are specifically designed to cater for anyone interested in creative writing, but who may not have a great deal of opportunity to attend such courses in the evenings," says poet and critic Fred Johnston. "I have met quite a number of people who would attend writers' courses if they were free to do so, but we all find spare time difficult to make these days."

The courses will cover both poetry and prose and will include reading of various authors' works also. "Reading is a vital component of learning how to write a story or a poem. Too often we neglect that aspect of things. I want to discuss poetry and prose that has influenced us as well as learn from it."
