Boris is the most gifted politician of his generation and less than three years ago won an 80-seat majority. Why didn't Hal become Henry V?

offsite link Sacrificing Children?s Needs for Those of Adults was Devastating and Must Never Happen Again Wed Jul 06, 2022 14:21 | Molly Kingsley and Liz Cole
In crisis, we chose to invert our public health paradigm by requiring the young to sacrifice their own health and wellbeing to safeguard that of adults. In doing so, we shattered our implicit social contract.

offsite link The New Bill of Rights is Another Example of Boris?s Lack of Backbone Wed Jul 06, 2022 10:30 | James Allan
The new Bill of Rights is a disappointment. It won't rein in the judges, just empower British ones at the expense of European ones. It does little about the undermining of parliamentary sovereignty by the lawyerly caste.

Protest At Stormont Against Cuts

category antrim | worker & community struggles and protests | event notice author Tuesday August 23, 2011 20:32author by anti-cuts - Stop the Cuts Campaignauthor email info at stopthecutscampaign dot com Report this post to the editors

Residents from South Belfast campaigning against the closure of Belfast City Hospital A&E will be protesting outside Parliament Buildings Stormont on the first day the Assembly meets to present the Minister for Health with thousands of petitions.

The Stop the Cuts Campaign is calling on all groups, communities and workers affected by cuts to join them on 12th September to send a message to the Assembly Executive that we do not support cut to jobs and services.

The cuts to the health service are threatening the health and lives of ordinary people. Young people are seeing their education being decimated. NIPSA has warned hundreds of workers will lose their jobs in education if the Assembly Executive implements the cuts.

We need to build a mass movement against these cuts - cuts which are wrecking the economy and lenghtening the dole queues.

Please support the protest at Stormont on 12th September
