The Science Museum has repeated the claim that Roberta Cowell was Britain's 'first transgender woman'. This is false, says Zack Stiling. She was biologically female. Worse, she would have hated the trans movement.

Dublin Shell to Sea is mobilising to Mayo for the May Day bank holiday in support and solidarity with the community in Erris.

If you believe in the right of a community to self determination, to live in a safe and sustainable environment and the right of the people of Ireland to benefit from Irish natural resources then get to Mayo this May Day bank holiday!

For the last decade the small rural community in Erris Co. Mayo has been engaged in a titanic struggle against state and corporate power.

Shell’s highly dangerous, experimental gas project places both the lives and livelihoods of the people of the Erris community in grave danger.

The Corrib gas project also allows Shell to expropriate the €10 billion worth of gas in the Corrib field with no benefit to the people of Ireland.

This community is standing up for their rights and has faced violence and intimidation from gardaí and Shell’s private security force IRMS on a continuous basis.

Shell recently started work on the onshore section of the unsafe pipeline and the community has once again mobilised to defend itself.

Over the last number of weeks Gardaí and IRMS have violently attacked Shell to Sea campaigners.

More recently the shocking revelations that senior gardaí made ‘jokes’ about raping two female Shell to Sea activists in their custody highlighted what this community has faced for many years.

The Rossport Solidarity Camp is organising a series of talks and actions for the Mayday weekend details will be posted on the Shell to Sea website and facebook page.

A Dublin Shell to Sea bus will leave Dublin on Friday the 29th of April at 6PM from Parnell Square Dublin 1. Please contact us at mobile - 086 7362417 or email; dublins2s@gmail.com to book a place on the bus or if you are driving. Anyone travelling will need to bring a tent, sleeping bag and rain gear!
