Lisbon II - Terawrizt (Vote No 2 Lisbon)

category dublin | eu | opinion/analysis author Monday September 28, 2009 18:20author by Terawriztauthor email terawrizt at gmail dot com Report this post to the editors

New anti-Lisbon treaty music video i have released in aid of the No campaign.

I am a Dublin based emcee and felt compelled to do my part in campaigning against this up-coming farsical vote on October 2nd.
There is alot of debating going back and forth about the issue's of this treaty so i felt obliged to weigh in with my opinion on the matter at hand.

The video was edited by a friend of mine who goes by the name of Jebus, the production was provided by a producer from Canada called Wyze Intellect.

The views expressed through the lyrics with-in the video are completely my own opinions on this treaty.
As i have found out some of the images contained in this video where created by people on this site so i would like to extend a thank you to them and to everyone who is doing there part to deny this treaty for the second time.

I would just like to state that i am not looking to use this video as a promotional tool for my own personal gain. The Lisbon Treaty i feel is too big an issue for people to ignore and the frustration i am feeling i'm sure is mirrored by many through-out the country.
If one person is swayed from sitting on the fence, being undecided or from the yes side to vote no on friday then my time and effort will have been more than worth it.

If you have taken the time to read or view this article then i thank you for that also.

Please feel free to contact me with your views or opinions and thank you to anyone who helps spread the word.

I will be voting NO on friday and hopefully many of you will be doing the same.

Well done on this one, have you sent this to independent radio stations?

yeah its been on near fm during a political broadcast, also the video was played at a co-op meet on sunday
i've had a few other dj's in touch wit me willing to play it so i've sent them all copies, also a couple of irish music stations in the states.. i've also sent it to all my contacts in the bigger radio stations around dublin, fm104 spin etc but im not expecting much from them..
if anyone knows any stations preferably outside dublin feel free to pass it on or pass me on the name and i will make sure they get a copy.
Thanks for ur reply

Was pointed to this a few days ago by my teenage son Rob.
Great video and lyrics, hopefully it gets some air play, great to see young people like yourself using the talents you have to inform your generation.

A lot of teenagers have downloaded it to ipods etc., which will help them to overcome the wall to wall yes stuff.

Congrats again Terawrizt, keep up the good work

Satire on Mr Cowen & the EU'S democracy":

Vote again on October second
the Lisbon treaty is sacrosanct
this is democracy that's beckoned
Politicians like not being outflanked

No matter we voted no & rejected
for democrats know what's best
their vision is like a beam projected
to light and guide our 'IQ' test

Language they abuse as tricksters
cattle herding words daily:
'Reform treaty' they lobby like pranksters
a 5% change offered gaily

For Europe, Jobs and Economy,
the CONacre of their private sector
but how will Ireland better be
if democracy's a fading spectre?

For Europe, Economy and Jobs,
heard I for Amsterdam and Maastricht,
the Puppet Masters and their mobs
always same balloons have pricked!

They listen not but talk down
as Masters to their Serfs
at them their Brussels bosses frown
like Big Fish towering o'er dwarfs!

To talk about the Treaty's contents
is not one of their 'Goodies',
but 'bout guarantees, ENTENTES, intents,
as if solid products for sale at Woodies

See the last drop of Nationhood
in the din and gin of Centralism,
the patriots' and martyrs' crimson blood,
the high rise of EU MILITARISM?

Who was it the banks dolled out,
the poor and weak assail like autocrats?
The Staus Quo - quislings - have sold out
Oh pardon me! They are democrats!!!!!

"Bon you're not oh Treaty of Lisbon":

Bon you're not oh Lisbon
that's why we scrape the quill
we've had enough bureaucratic con
the abyss of time to fill

Con artists, neo-cons and Lisbon -
we fill protest's stoups;
we've had enough o' Pawn-
brokers, Commissioners, Lobby Groups!

Who on their citizens trod upon
as though their needs are surplus
wield the Lisbon Treaty like a coupon
a secret memo - a legal corpus

Bon you're not oh Lisbon
that's why our ink we daub
we've had so much corporate con
time's page taints its blob

Lisbon will you subsist 'pon
this double-barrelled constitution?
A con job pour dissent's mist ' PON
Need we a REFORM INSTITUTION

Is mise le meas,
