BREANDÁN Ó CONCHÚIR is an authority on the verse of eighteenth-century Munster. Good to see Eoghan Rua celebrated and, in fact, it might spur on a reassessment of poets from the 18th and into the 19th centuries too who have been forgotten or abandoned in our time. They may show us something of the art of protesting-through-satire, now that we have a government that cares nothing for culture, and less for the poor.
