category national | arts and media | event notice author Wednesday April 23, 2008 19:47author by Electronic Resistance Report this post to the editors

Gizza Dig Out! Cometo the Gig!

Electronic Resistance has been around for over a year now and much progress has been made in achieving what we set out to do.
We've raised a couple of thousand euro for social and campaign groups including Shell to Sea,Killer Coke and the Chilean Organisation of People Without Roofs whilst at the same time promoting local electronic talent.

We've helped various campaigns and protests raise money and awareness by playing tunes at their gigs, promoting their events through our websites and lending out our equipment and time at events they have organised.
Examples include the World Bank Protest, the Legalise Cannabis March (on which there was and will be again, an E.R truck),Choice Ireland rally,Grassroots Gathering gig(almost!)and of course various Seomra Spraoi gatherings (sniff..)

Electronic talent from near and far has chipped in on the gravy train and a big thanks goes out to all those who've helped out so far- sorry if we left anyone off
the Glitter-roll - Lakker,PCP,Prince Kong,Homo Ludo,Queen Kong,Super Extra Bonus Party,T-Woc,The Disco Infiltrators,Richie Kaboogie!,Krossphader,Scully,DJ Welfare,Dr Groove,Fingerface,Kavi,Kami,Kalpol,D,B and so on

That glitter roll is about to get even more glittery with the addition of Francois (Legendary Dublin Techno DJ coming out of retirement!),Herv,Don Rosco,DJ Filth,Nedule,P Sinnott,Half Dutch and Pimpslap..

And the reason - to help US raise money - for US!
Some of our gear has given up the ghost and to ensure that we can keep rockin it on the streets and in the fields we need to invest in some brand new second hand equipment - thats where you come in!

On Friday the 16th we are holding a Rig Gig fundraiser from 9pm in McGruders on Thomas St with some of the glitchiest and crunchiest techno, drum n bass,Dubstep and breakcore DJs spinning to keep you fully entertained!

Add to this mix Visuals by Fisherprice (from Revolt Video), vegan treats from the Peoples Kitchen and a Seomra Spraoi room and theres something for all the family to chomp on -

So do join us for a night of revolutionary electronic frolics and help us keep on blastin it into the future!
