As well as increased resistance throughout september.

Action Stations Tara Sept 1-7th

A week of intense direct action has been networked for Tara.

Groups are coming from around Eire,Europe and the UK .
Several vans of up for it activists have headed to Tara for a fun filled week of action.
The EU has said all work should stop and a proper Environmental Impact assessment should be carried out.
Meanwhile bulldozers have been working this week to destroy more of Rath Lugh a national monument Hill fort and the traditional home of the Fianna the warriors of old Erin.

September looks set to become a full on month of direct action as more rally to the defence of this valley sacred to all the Celtic Peoples.Slowing up the work to gain time for the 3 legal challenges and the EU judicial case.
All concerned EU citizens should contact the press, the EU,the Irish government and get down to Tara to voice their concerns take action and enforce EU law.

It was reported this week from the frontline, that the Gardai (police ) had said they would not be arresting people, possibly fearing large compensation claims from people arrested trying to uphold EU law.
However we have just got report from tara yahoo groups email that 2 people have just been arrested for trying to defend the Rath Lugh national monument.

A spokesperson for the League of Larey Leprechauns said " this road will never be built and will prove the undoing of those who think they are in power"

Take action your ancestors have been turned over in their graves.

Hi Pixies.

More info on arrests please and also a wee bit of clarification on Rathlugh.

Rathlugh is close to Lismullin which is subject of litigation, therefore, the ongoing
'archaeological investigations' at Lismullin and the destruction at Rath lugh should be
documented. got a camera down there?

I shall be waving anything that shows John Gormley what an asshole he is in his face
come the next election- thanks!

If someone wd care to publish a map and point out where the destruction is
happening and its proximity to Lismullin, wd be appreciated.

The PR used by DOE to justify the creation of unsustainable expensive roads indicates
the complete failure of the Green Party to grasp the basic nettle of Sustainability in
development and their use of PR to cover the abuse of mandate of Roche.

A major protest is underway at Rath Lugh near the henge at Lismullin. 9 construction vehicles have been occupied and surrounded. The protesors include Pupeteers, Tigger Costumes, song and dance and other colourful displays. The Gardai have been called , they are not there yet so no arrests so far.

You are invited to observe the peaceful action. An update and video will be provided later by those on site. Thankyou.

The sites at Roestown and Collierstown are occupied.
Collierstown is the final point at where the road can bend.
Rath Lugh is not indicated on the NRA map.

Rath Lugh is just across from the indicated Lismullin site , it comprises a natural fort
and Esker, it's scrub afforested on the hill and overlooks Lismullin site.
The destruction oif the esker/hill and unexcavated Rath Lugh is to accomodate the
envisioned 'Preservation by Record' of Lismullin, ordered by Dick Roche and rationalised
by Green party Leader and Minister for the Environment John Gormley.

People are needed at Collierstown which heads into the area of Rath Lugh and Lismullin.
There is also a site in the field opposite Collierstown site that has been photographed
and logged by campaigners.

Tomorrow the nine campaigners that have been arrested and charged are facing their
second hearing in court.
