Treasa ni Fatharta's great-uncle Sean O Briain took part in the Rising and was interned in Stafford Jail with Michael Collins. Teach Synge is her family home -- a traditional Aran cottage which she has lovingly restored to commemorate the sojourn there, not only of the playwright J.M.Synge, but of others of the Gaelic Revival, including the 1916 leaders Patrick Pearse and Thomas McDonagh, who all came to Inis Meain to learn Irish -- the cottage was affectionately known as "an Ollscoil na Gaeilge."
The performance will be FREE: but donations will be welcome for the upkeep and development
of the museum/library at Teach Synge.
The performance will take place out of doors in front of the cottage
(indoors if it's wet), staring at 1.0 pm.
