Protesters gathered around twelve outside the Travellers Friend hotel where the conference was held. Campaigners held placards and handed out flyers and leaflets to highlight Minister Dempsey's responsibility for the discredited Corrib gas project and demand the gas to be cleaned at sea and the deal be renegotiated.

Protesters remained outside the hotel through drizzel and rain until the delegates emerged from the conference at around five pm.
