Shell to Sea picket Dempsey at FF convention

Members of Rossport Solidarity Camp and Shell to Sea campaigners picketed the Fianna Fail selection conference in Castlebar today at which Minister for Marine and Natural Resources Noel Dempsey was in attendance.

Approxamately fifteen campaigners from Rossport Solidarity Camp and Shell to Sea picketed the Fianna Fail selection conference in Castlebar today at which Minister for Marine and Natural Resources Noel Dempsey was present.

Protesters gathered around twelve outside the Travellers Friend hotel where the conference was held. Campaigners held placards and handed out flyers and leaflets to highlight Minister Dempsey's responsibility for the discredited Corrib gas project and demand the gas to be cleaned at sea and the deal be renegotiated.

Protesters remained outside the hotel through drizzel and rain until the delegates emerged from the conference at around five pm.

Several gardai were present .

Particularly like the billboard, on the right in the first photo, advertising the Fun Lovin' Criminals. Would that be a reference to the Fianna Fail selection committee?
