This is a public interest story about a complete failure of governance and management at UCC.

offsite link Deliberate Design Flaw In ChatGPT-5 Sun Aug 17, 2025 08:04 | Mind Agent
Socratic Dialog Between ChatGPT-5 and Mind Agent Reveals Fatal and Deliberate 'Design by Construction' Flaw
This design flaw in ChatGPT-5's default epistemic mode subverts what the much touted ChatGPT-5 can do... so long as the flaw is not tickled, any usage should be fine---The epistemological question is: how would anyone in the public, includes you reading this (since no one is all knowing), in an unfamiliar domain know whether or not the flaw has been tickled when seeking information or understanding of a domain without prior knowledge of that domain???!

This analysis is a pretty unique and significant contribution to the space of empirical evaluation of LLMs that exist in AI public world... at least thus far, as far as I am aware! For what it's worth--as if anyone in the ChatGPT universe cares as they pile up on using the "PhD level scholar in your pocket".

According to GPT-5, and according to my tests, this flaw exists in all LLMs... What is revealing is the deduction GPT-5 made: Why ?design choice? starts looking like ?deliberate flaw?.

People are paying $200 a month to not just ChatGPT, but all major LLMs have similar Pro pricing! I bet they, like the normal user of free ChatGPT, stay in LLM's default mode where the flaw manifests itself. As it did in this evaluation.

offsite link AI Reach: Gemini Reasoning Question of God Sat Aug 02, 2025 20:00 | Mind Agent
Evaluating Semantic Reasoning Capability of AI Chatbot on Ontologically Deep Abstract (bias neutral) Thought
I have been evaluating AI Chatbot agents for their epistemic limits over the past two months, and have tested all major AI Agents, ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Perplexity, and DeepSeek, for their epistemic limits and their negative impact as information gate-keepers.... Today I decided to test for how AI could be the boon for humanity in other positive areas, such as in completely abstract realms, such as metaphysical thought. Meaning, I wanted to test the LLMs for Positives beyond what most researchers benchmark these for, or have expressed in the approx. 2500 Turing tests in Humanity?s Last Exam.. And I chose as my first candidate, Google DeepMind's Gemini as I had not evaluated it before on anything.

offsite link Israeli Human Rights Group B'Tselem finally Admits It is Genocide releasing Our Genocide report Fri Aug 01, 2025 23:54 | 1 of indy
We have all known it for over 2 years that it is a genocide in Gaza
Israeli human rights group B'Tselem has finally admitted what everyone else outside Israel has known for two years is that the Israeli state is carrying out a genocide in Gaza

Western governments like the USA are complicit in it as they have been supplying the huge bombs and missiles used by Israel and dropped on innocent civilians in Gaza. One phone call from the USA regime could have ended it at any point. However many other countries are complicity with their tacit approval and neighboring Arab countries have been pretty spinless too in their support

With the release of this report titled: Our Genocide -there is a good chance this will make it okay for more people within Israel itself to speak out and do something about it despite the fact that many there are actually in support of the Gaza

This story is unverified but it is very instructive of what will happen when cash is removed
THIS STORY IS UNVERIFIED BUT PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO OR READ THE TRANSCRIPT AS IT GIVES AN VERY GOOD IDEA OF WHAT A CASHLESS SOCIETY WILL LOOK LIKE. And it ain't pretty

A single video report has come out of China claiming China's biggest cities are now cashless, not by choice, but by force. The report goes on to claim ATMs have gone dark, vaults are being emptied. And overnight (July 20 into 21), the digital yuan is the only currency allowed.

Protest at visit of World Bank President to Dublin

Globalise Resistence are calling on all groups to support the protest called for Sunday 30th Jan 6pm at the Shelbourne Hotel where the Wolfensohn will be attending a reception! It'll be up to all of us to give him the welcome he really deserves. Bring lots of noise!

CANCEL THE DEBT
PROTEST AT WORLD BANK PRESIDENT

The recent Tsunami has brought the plight of Asia to the world’s attention. Governments around the world have pledged money to relieve the crisis. But many of these same countries have been draining desperately needed resources for years from Asia through demands for debt repayment. The countries hardest hit, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and India, together paid a massive $50 billion in debt payments in 2002.

Sri Lanka, a poor country of 19 million people paid out a staggering $753 million in debt payments in 2002. Indonesia is also severely indebted, owing a massive $132 billion. It's debt was run up by Suharto’s corrupt and repressive regime since l966. The World Bank has admitted that a third of the loans it made to the Suharto regime was used for weapons purchases. Today Indonesia pays ten times as much on debt servicing as it does on health.

Rich countries have only granted a 'debt moratorium' to countries affected by the tsunami, meaning countries would not have to make debt payments during the period of the moratorium. But this is just a breathing space and is not a solution to the problem of unpayable debt which countries already carry and will continue to carry after the moratorium. It needs to be remembered that in the region affected by the tsunami, 3 million children die every year from preventable diseases, and that this situation is likely to continue even after the immediate effects of the disaster have disappeared.

The IMF and World Bank do have the resources to cancel all the debt owed to them by the poorest countries. The report clearly shows that rather than being poverty stricken as they pretend, the IMF and World Bank are hugely profitable organisations. The World Bank profits have increased from $1.2bn in l996 to $5.3bn in 2003

JOIN THE PROTEST
James Wolfensohn, president of the World Bank, is due to be in Dublin from 30th January to 1st February.

The Structural Adjustment Policies of the World Bank and IMF have had devastating effects on the lives of millions of people around the world. These policies imposed by the World Bank and IMF force governments to divert money away from social and public spending and into debt repayment and compliance is a condition of ensuring new loans.

Wolfensohn visit to Dublin is part of the public relations response by the World Bank to its poor image problem. The World Bank has been a major target of the anti-capitalist movement in recent years most notably in Prague in 2000 where protesters forced the IMF/World Bank conference to be cut short, and in Barcelona where in 2001 the mere announcement of planned demonstrations caused the canceling of a World Bank summit.

Join the Protest to call for the Cancellation of the Debt 30th January, 6pm Shelbourne Hotel

FACTS AND FIGURES

A quarter of the world’s population, 1.3 billion people, live in severe poverty...

Nearly 800 million people do not get enough food, and about 500 million people are chronically malnourished. More than a third of children are malnourished.

In industrial countries more than 100 million people live below the poverty line, more than 5 million people are homeless and 37 million are jobless.

Of the world’s 23 million people living with HIV/AIDS more than 93% live in developing countries.

More than 840 million adults are illiterate - 538 million of them are women.

Around 2 million children died as a result of armed conflict in the last decade.

In developing countries 160 million pre-school children are underweight.

1.2 billion people live without access to safe drinking water.

110 million landmines lie undetonated in 68 countries.

Today’s society has the resources to eradicate poverty...

The net wealth of the 10 richest billionaires is $ 133 billion, more than 1.5 times the total national income of the least developed countries.

The cost of eradicating poverty is 1% of global income.

Effective debt relief to the 20 poorest countries would cost $ 5.5 billion - equivalent to the cost of building EuroDisney.

Providing universal access to basic social services and transfers to alleviate income poverty would cost $ 80 billion, less than the net worth of the seven richest men in the world.
