People feel different things about political prisoners, often claiming that they aren't really political, and many political prisoners are incarcerated for political reasons to stop them being politically effective using criminal laws. We call this "criminalisation" of social, national or political movements. Years ago, people used to wear green ribbons in ireland to show solidarity with irish political prisoners, of which now there are almost none, and now hippies are wearing green ribbons in the Ukraine to show they're not orange heads. Isn't modern political progress great?
Meanwhile, prisons are not effective at anything. Curbing crime, resolving political dissent, getting kids off drugs. That's why Jesus was against them. He thought prisons were morally deficient.
Mc Do Well is for prisons. Therefore he is anti Jesus. What type of Christmas crib do you have in Dublin this year?
Can you cite chapter and verse to back the statement:
"That's why Jesus was against them. He thought prisons were morally deficient."
We're really interested.
;-)-
Readers please note "Jesus is recorded as saying nothing about prisons, being whipped, tortured, interogated, or subjected to summary trial and execution, other than -they don't know what they're doing eloi eloi lama sabacthani- "
this is a temporary mesure.
See what happens sort of thing.

put it bluntly -
its crap. the auld man is gonna die sooner or later,
and then within a few months, Cuba will revert to being the gambling whorehouse of the carribean,
and neither gloria estafan nor a special apostolic blessing for casino owners on life support machines will change that.
The last weeks have seen Cuba's government become increasingly hostile against its main cultural ally in Europe, (Spain) saying loads of stuff about Zp, understandable in a way, but when considered with the personal testimonies which I constantly listen to, from young europeans who have gone to Cuba and older people who go to cuba regularly, I just have to say to ye all, it's shite.
the poor in the countryside are super poor.
the young in the cities are brainwashed to equal degree "polarisation" by either two generations of Castro-ism or one generation of shopping mall Gloria Estafan. The lifting of the embargo meant that CAstro had at least no excuses to blame the EU for continuing the misery, but not one effort has been made to "open". Call it "glasnost" cuba style.
CAll it listening to buena vista social club and understanding the lyrics. (we as a bunch in BCN take a lot of interest in them, know a lot of them, and take it from us in a grass roots appraisal way - its shite. there has to be another way out of these problems for ordinary people there. there has to be, but castro "amo" is not pointing to it anymore than bush is).
the political Eu stuff:-

he is the "newest exile", as such life will be made relatively comfortable for him, he'll get a typewriter, offers of supper, the odd toasted cheesey, & because he's been at it a while, "the scraping of fingernails across the blackboard of social conscience" a few magazine and telly interviews and awards (with cash involved). Why- he's just got a telephone call from the dignitaries.
This is how "concerned civilised society" will try and "make it up to him" for all the nasty things he gone through, and many wll dotheir best not to ask awkward questions.
the permenant collective of @rtists and activists and intellectuals naturally say "settle in" and continue your work in highlighting the persecution of those who claim the right to freedom of opinion and for all those who continue to be imprisoned in his native Cuba for political belief or activity. As he is stated is his is wish.
.:. Qui non libere veritatem pronunciat proditur est veritatis .:.
On the other side of reality and the permenant assembly of @rtists, activists and intellectuals would like to remind all that today is European day of struggle against internment camps. There countless poor kept in migrant detention camps
within and without Fortress Europe. There are no proper guarantees as to the safety and dignity of the inmates. Those employed in the care of fellow homan beings who have been trafficked or so desperate to risk their lives to search a better life in the European Union are engaged in work which is morally and psychologically damaging. Borders start where they are guarded. Professional politicians far from those borders in the richest states of the EU make decisions on the basis of local wealth which ignore the impovrishment and desperation from which migrants are coming.
Those states outside the union too have to address the mechanisms they employ to stem illegal human trafficking and sexual slavery.
No man is illegal
Every frontier is immoral
Poets are sometimes free.
