Cork City Council used the Criminal Justice -Public Order- Act, to evict a family they had just agreed to accommodate. For refusing to get out of her caravan, i.e. her own home, a Traveller mother will now face a prosecution!!! The silly thing is, there was not even a need to evict this family from the roadside because they were due to move into a rented house today. The City Council knew that, because they will be the landlord, but still they ordered this eviction. Strange people.

It gets better and better. Cork City Council have lowered themselves even further by the latest action against a Traveller family. Yesterday morning around 7.30 a Traveller woman and her two daughters aged about 8 years and 18 months, all still in their night clothes inside their caravan, were towed by Gardaí to the local Garda station, acting under a Section 19 notice issued by the City Council. Under the 2001 Housing Act (which amends the 1984 Criminal Justice -Public Order- Act, (see http://www.indymedia.ie/features/trespass.html ) this notice gives the City Council the right effectively to order the Gardaí to carry out an eviction. For refusing to get out of the caravan, i.e. her own home, the mother will now face a prosecution under the Public Order Act!!! Don't you remember the Bantry Eviction?

A few years ago the "good people" of Bantry in West Cork paid for a bunch of thugs from Kildare, I believe it was, to evict a traveller family. The "A-Team" arrived in Bantry at 5am with a fork lift, low loader and trucks full of baton wielding heavies . The travellers crime was that they were camped in a place where tourists could see them and they were "spoiling the look of Bantry".

For a hour or so the hired thugs battled with a single traveller family whose children were rocked from their beds as the fork lifts lifted their caravans and tried to load them onto low-loaders, but to no avail. A man , his wife and five young children beaten from their beds held on desperately .

A number of "hippy" types staying in a local youth hostel, being woken from their sleep and seeing the melee, ran to assist the family by making a line between them and the thugs and soon enough the Guards arrived. Nothing like a group of hippies to draw immediate Garda intervention! This took place in the centre of Bantry town. If you stand outside the Garda station you can see where the families had their two caravans parked, beside the ESB yard.

There are dispicable bunches of thugs or gangs still in control of certain areas of Ireland where they have both official and church approval for the villiany. They have the tacit support of the mass of people who remain silent to what they know is the corrupt nature of the country because they have been fooled into believing there is nothing they can do. These gangs elect "their men" to the Dail and play with our/British legal system in a way that is the pure essence of Treason, in countries where such a law exists. I don't grudge any gang their rackets and fiddles but not if it is turning the country into a ghetto where only the wealthy and connected can advance and where the rest of us must live in a the sewage of their grafting and resultant crime.

How can we blame any of those children who were 5 or 10 and who were rocked out of their beds by the fascist racists of Bantry for anything they might do to "society" when they grow up? Have we not shown them how to act? Brutally, selfishly. But of course we could build more prisons ......back-handers for builders, architects, planners ! Jobs for Guards, judges, solicitors prison officers and social workers and the rest of the "justice" industry. It's jobs-for-the-boys-stupid! What an industry the make out of a few poor people, travellers and hippies to keep them in their golf-club comforts!
