This is a public interest story about a complete failure of governance and management at UCC.

offsite link Deliberate Design Flaw In ChatGPT-5 Sun Aug 17, 2025 08:04 | Mind Agent
Socratic Dialog Between ChatGPT-5 and Mind Agent Reveals Fatal and Deliberate 'Design by Construction' Flaw
This design flaw in ChatGPT-5's default epistemic mode subverts what the much touted ChatGPT-5 can do... so long as the flaw is not tickled, any usage should be fine---The epistemological question is: how would anyone in the public, includes you reading this (since no one is all knowing), in an unfamiliar domain know whether or not the flaw has been tickled when seeking information or understanding of a domain without prior knowledge of that domain???!

This analysis is a pretty unique and significant contribution to the space of empirical evaluation of LLMs that exist in AI public world... at least thus far, as far as I am aware! For what it's worth--as if anyone in the ChatGPT universe cares as they pile up on using the "PhD level scholar in your pocket".

According to GPT-5, and according to my tests, this flaw exists in all LLMs... What is revealing is the deduction GPT-5 made: Why ?design choice? starts looking like ?deliberate flaw?.

People are paying $200 a month to not just ChatGPT, but all major LLMs have similar Pro pricing! I bet they, like the normal user of free ChatGPT, stay in LLM's default mode where the flaw manifests itself. As it did in this evaluation.

Evaluating Semantic Reasoning Capability of AI Chatbot on Ontologically Deep Abstract (bias neutral) Thought
I have been evaluating AI Chatbot agents for their epistemic limits over the past two months, and have tested all major AI Agents, ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Perplexity, and DeepSeek, for their epistemic limits and their negative impact as information gate-keepers.... Today I decided to test for how AI could be the boon for humanity in other positive areas, such as in completely abstract realms, such as metaphysical thought. Meaning, I wanted to test the LLMs for Positives beyond what most researchers benchmark these for, or have expressed in the approx. 2500 Turing tests in Humanity?s Last Exam.. And I chose as my first candidate, Google DeepMind's Gemini as I had not evaluated it before on anything.

offsite link Israeli Human Rights Group B'Tselem finally Admits It is Genocide releasing Our Genocide report Fri Aug 01, 2025 23:54 | 1 of indy
We have all known it for over 2 years that it is a genocide in Gaza
Israeli human rights group B'Tselem has finally admitted what everyone else outside Israel has known for two years is that the Israeli state is carrying out a genocide in Gaza

Western governments like the USA are complicit in it as they have been supplying the huge bombs and missiles used by Israel and dropped on innocent civilians in Gaza. One phone call from the USA regime could have ended it at any point. However many other countries are complicity with their tacit approval and neighboring Arab countries have been pretty spinless too in their support

With the release of this report titled: Our Genocide -there is a good chance this will make it okay for more people within Israel itself to speak out and do something about it despite the fact that many there are actually in support of the Gaza

This story is unverified but it is very instructive of what will happen when cash is removed
THIS STORY IS UNVERIFIED BUT PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO OR READ THE TRANSCRIPT AS IT GIVES AN VERY GOOD IDEA OF WHAT A CASHLESS SOCIETY WILL LOOK LIKE. And it ain't pretty

A single video report has come out of China claiming China's biggest cities are now cashless, not by choice, but by force. The report goes on to claim ATMs have gone dark, vaults are being emptied. And overnight (July 20 into 21), the digital yuan is the only currency allowed.

Fianna Fail election tactics

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Wednesday May 15, 2002 13:00author by John Connolly - SWP Report this post to the editors

i know this isn't exactly news but just wanted to let people know what Fianna Fail are up to here in Galway.

On Saturday posters started going up around town saying that "a vote for Fianna Fail was a vote for Incineration - Stop the Cancer before it starts". Later on Saturday a FF local rang an organiser from Galway for a Safe Environment campaign saying that this was illegal and then a Civil servant (do they work on Saturdays?) rang from Dublin saying the same. Yesterday the same organiser was paid a visit by the cops seemingly wanting to find out more about these posters.
The claim is that it is illegal to put up posters of this nature unless you are a registered organisation, sadly GSE isn't but it is made up of people in different organisations that are registered, seems to me that FF are not only attacking protestors on streets but the right to dissent as well.
An aside from Saturday. The Galway branch of the SWP were doing the usual paper sale on Saturday on Shop st when a bunch of Ogra Fianna Failers were canvassing on the street. With waving of brown envelopes and shouts in my English/Irish accent of don't vote Fianna Fail they got a nice surprise. Their only response to me was "Go back to where you come from". Anyone doubt their racism?

what a moron-is it possible for a Brit to criticise any crime committed by a Brit?
you would blame him for the crimes of the Empire just because of his race???????
who's the racist here, eh??????

probably means spend money, e.g. print posters, leaflets etc., post letters, send faxes, make phone calls to journalists, etc.

Sorry 'GSE' but the SWP is involved in Galway for a Safe Environment. Are we hijacking their campign, erm, no, like i said we are involved in their campaign just like the Green Party is.
If you knew your facts you would find that the SWP in Galway gave the GSE old posters so that the posters i mentioned in my first post could be pasted on the back.
And sorry 'GSE', Phuq Hedd is right about the racist remark, cheers Phuq Hedd.

from what you've quoted it's only of concern Iff you're proposing to incur expenses?

author by fuinseogpublication date Wed May 15, 2002 23:51author address author phone Report this post to the editors

It's in the Electoral Act 1997.

See the website.

Relevant bits include;

4.1 The legislation recognises a role for third parties in the electoral process. A third party is defined in the legislation as meaning any person, other than a registered political party or a candidate at an election, who accepts, in a particular year, a donation for political purposes the value of which exceeds €126.97 (£100) (see definition of political purposes in Appendix 1).

4.4 The legislation also recognises that a person, who is not a candidate, an election agent of a candidate, a national agent of a political party or a third party (as defined in paragraph 4.1 above), may become involved in the election by promoting or opposing a candidate or a political party.

[Note: The difference between a person covered by paragraph 4.4 and a third party referred to in paragraph 4.1 above is that the person referred to in paragraph 4.4 would not have accepted, in a particular year, a donation the value of which exceeds €126.97 (£100).]

4.5 Before incurring any expenses at an election, a third party referred to in paragraph 4.1 above and a person referred to in paragraph 4.4 above, which or who proposes to incur election expenses, must furnish to the Commission, in writing:

i) the name, address and description of the person proposing to incur the expenses,

ii) a statement of the nature, purpose and estimated amount of such expenses, and

iii) an indication of the person's connection, if any, with any political party or candidate at the election.

'political purposes' means any of the following purposes namely;

(i)(I) to promote or oppose directly or indirectly, the interests of a political party, a political group, a member of either House of the Oireachtas or a representative in the European Parliament, or

(II) to present, directly or indirectly the policies or a particular policy of a political party, a political group, a member of either House of the Oireachtas, a representative in the European Parliament or a third party, or

(III) to present, directly or indirectly, the comments of a political party, a political group, a member of either House of the Oireachtas, a representative in the European Parliament or a third party with regard to the policy or policies of another political party, political group, a member of either House of the Oireachtas, representative in the European Parliament, third party or candidate at an election or referendum or otherwise, or

(IV) to promote or oppose, directly or indirectly, the interests of a third party in connection with the conduct or management of any campaign conducted with a view to promoting or procuring a particular outcome in relation to a policy or policies or functions of the Government or any public authority;

(ii) to promote or oppose, directly or indirectly, the election of a candidate at a Dáil, Seanad or European election or to solicit votes for or against a candidate or to present the policies or a particular policy of a candidate or the views of a candidate on any matter connected with the election or the comments of a candidate with regard to the policy or policies of a political party or a political group or of another candidate at the election or otherwise;

(iii) otherwise to influence the outcome of the election or a referendum or campaign referred to in paragraph (i)(IV) of this definition.

Very wide-ranging and should be of concern to all NGOs.

Of course the top-poster can talk about racism, and yes Ogra-FF telling someone to "go back where you came from" is racist!

Your assumption that he doesn't know history, doesn't know about racism etc. is foolish.

1. the SWP has nothing to do with GSE. are you trying to hijack another campaign?
2. if you're british, then you can't talk about racism. there are a few history books out there that you should read. your reference to racism is moronic.

This is crap. What is a 'registered organisation'. 'Registered' with who, exactly.
To run as a political party in the election and have that on the ballot paper - i.e. Charlie Woolyback, Fianna Fail - you have to be registered as a legitimate political party with the clerk of the Dail.
You do NOT have to be 'registered' to put up posters, at election time or any other time. So tell them this. You can also say you will take them down by a particular time (whether you do or not is a different matter).
This is just blatant intimidation.
