Mondo Washington WASHINGTON, D.C.—One theory zipping around the Internet today is that this city’s sniper killings are the work of a person or persons methodically etching the outlines of the Celtic cross onto the map. The Celtic cross is a ringed cross, and while it plays a part in Christian theology, it is also a pagan symbol. Some are seeing similarities between the killer(s) and the Zodiac Killer of the early 1990s. He set out to murder one person for each astrological sign—a plan that he relayed to both the media and cops. The sniper(s) so far have shot a young boy, a young mother, an elderly man, a cab driver, a landscaper, a government scientist, and last night a man who had just finished filling his tank at a Manassas, Virginia, gas station. All the shootings have been sniper style: one shot. The shootings occurred near main thoroughfares—the Beltway around Washington, and last night on Route 66 heading from Washington west into Virginia. As for the death tarot card, Biddy Tarot, a professional tarot reader, provides a thumbnail description on her Web site (biddytarot.com). Death is ruled by the Scorpio sign of "sex, death, and taxes." The armor worn by Death shows him to be invincible. No one has triumphed over death. Death does indeed ride a white horse (the white truck), the sign of the purifier. "All sectors of the human race are represented here, men, women and children. Death is not a respecter of age, race, or gender."
