bicycle_thieves_09_dvd_vis_thumb.jpg

"‘Bicycle Thieves’ is director Vittorio De Sica's 1948 story of a poor father searching post-World War II Rome for his stolen bicycle, without which he will lose the job which was to be the salvation of his young family. Honest, sad and deeply human, using non-actors against the backdrop of a destitute city, this is one of the classics of Italian Neo-realist Cinema.
